Job Description

AECOM is looking for an Internal Communications Coordinator with strong journalistic skills and creative content ideas, who will work with the Europe and India Internal Communications team and will be responsible for supporting our Environment, Water & Energy business in communicating and engaging effectively within their teams and to the broader business. This role reports into the Environment, Water & Energy (EWE) Internal Communications Lead.

You will have a basic understanding of how a professional services organisation operates and will bring creative, innovative ideas that will help engage employees at all levels.

You’ll also be the coordinator and editor of news, stories, project wins, milestones, campaign content, events, internal newsletters and internal social media related to Environment, Water & Energy. You would be writing, editing, researching and curating stories from our Environment, Water & Energy team across Europe and India for use in a range of platforms, including company intranet, emails / newsletters, internal social media platform, video clips / digital media, presentations, local offices and events.

Key responsibilities

Content creation: Assist in creating compelling and engaging content for various communication channels, such as newsletters, emails, intranet, social media/ Viva Engage. This could involve drafting, editing, and proofreading content. You’ll also support the development and delivery of regional Environment, Water & Energy town halls.

Communications channels: Support the management and maintenance of internal communication channels, ensuring they are up-to-date, user-friendly, and aligned with communication objectives; this includes keep the Environment, Water & Energy internal site with relevant information.

Employee engagement: Assist in the implementation of employee engagement programs and initiatives, helping to organise events, campaigns, surveys, and other activities designed to boost morale and team cohesion.

Stakeholder collaboration: Work closely with various departments, stakeholders, and teams to coordinate communication efforts, gather information, and ensure consistency in messaging across different channels.

Data measurement: Assist in tracking and analysing communication metrics and data to evaluate the effectiveness of communication campaigns and initiatives. This involves gathering feedback and generating reports to support decision-making.

Effective delivery: Support the distribution of communications through appropriate channels, ensuring messages reach the intended audience effectively and efficiently.

Qualifications

  • We are looking for someone with 3-4 years of experience working within a large, preferably professional services, organisation.

  • You must have proven ability to meet deadlines and prioritise a variety of projects and tasks, have excellent communication skills and attention to detail and be able to work equally effectively both independently and as part of a team.

· Writing skills : Excellent writing, editing and proofreading skills in English as well as the journalistic ability to source stories from the business.

· Completion skills : Able to work independently, taking projects through to completion both working as part of a team and independently.

· Creative skills: The creative ability to storyboard internal campaigns and material that will engage and excite staff.

· Software skills : Good working knowledge of PowerPoint, InDesign, Photoshop and SharePoint (desirable).

· Digital skills : Experience in delivering content through multi-media and digital platforms.

  • Educated to degree level in Communications, Marketing or Journalism.
