Joint Replacement is hiring a Materials Engineer, Design Assurance – Sustaining in Mahwah, New Jersey! In this role , you will be supporting the evaluation of material selection, processing, and performance for the Sustaining business within Design Assurance. You will help drive the highest standard of product quality for existing Stryker orthopedic products. Our global team works within the Design Assurance Engineering function but will have interactions with multiple teams, including Product Support Engineering, Operations, and Sterility.
This role is part of a global team that drives engineering activities in the maintenance of orthopedic products to ensure the highest level of product quality and ensure compliance to the company's quality system and external standards. The team's mission is to efficiently drive rigor in sustaining activities through creative problem-solving and ensuring market continuity of safe and effective products.
Work Flexibility: Hybrid. This role requires reasonable proximity to our Stryker facility. You should be comfortable working two days onsite.
What you will do:
You will support the materials engineering analysis of existing hip and knee orthopedic devices.
You will contribute to large scale continuous improvement and cost savings projects tied to multiple product lines in Stryker's portfolio.
You will support internal specification reviews and updates to align with the latest industry standards.
You will aid in reviewing supplier documentation regarding material processing changes and performance.
You will engage with your cross functional team to drive our company’s mission and strengthen the Stryker brand.
You should love solving complex problems in a fast paced and stimulating environment.
What you need:
Required
Bachelor of Science or engineering required. Materials Science / Materials Engineering strongly preferred.
0+ years of related experience.
Preferred :
Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively to solve complex problems.
Ability to work on multiple tasks in parallel and effectively manage time.
Strong leadership and communication skills preferred.
