As a key member of the Financial Services team and business partner with real estate, the Financial Analyst will be responsible for the accounting and financial reporting related to Stantec’s worldwide real estate and equipment lease activities. The Financial Analyst will work closely with Corporate Real Estate, Procurement, Accounts Payable and other internal departments as well as with external service providers, including landlords. This opportunity is located in Manila, Philippines.

Your Key Responsibilities

  • Review lease and sublease agreements to assess IFRS accounting implications

  • Verify the accuracy of CoStar leases database and coordinate updates

  • Prepare monthly lease payments and analyze variances

  • Prepare complex journal entries for lease accounting and internal allocations

  • Perform related balance sheet reconciliations

  • Provide and maintain information as required for external disclosures

  • Assist in the 5-day period end close process including identifying any issues and the action required to correct them to ensure the accuracy of our financial statements are properly stated

  • Ensure compliance with company policies, practices, procedures

  • Ensure key controls for financial reporting related to Stantec’s SOX and internal control program are effective and operational

  • Identify and assist with the implementation of business processes improvements

Job Requirements

  • An accounting degree or diploma (or equivalent experience)

  • Minimum of two years of IFRS 16 related work experience or an equivalent combination of education and related real estate experience

  • Experience with Oracle, CoStar Real Estate Manager, and BlackLine would be considered an asset

  • Detail oriented individual with high degree of accuracy in analyzing contracts, data and financial reporting

  • Strong organizational skills to manage multiple competing priorities and firm deadlines

  • A proactive and responsive customer service approach

  • Excellent problem-solving skills, demonstrating initiative and assertiveness
