The Vanguard Group Data Engineer, Specialist in Malvern, Pennsylvania
Data Engineer, Specialist (The Vanguard Group, Inc. / Malvern, PA) -- Analyze and process Extract, Transform and Load (ETL) Data Requests; support of NonProd and Production Environments, both domestic and internationally based; engage in projects related to design and enhancement of existing Infrastructure; provide technical consultation and support to internal clients and business partners; educate and develop junior data engineers on team while applying quality control to their work; test and implement new software/script releases through regression testing and code reviews; identify issues and engage with needed partners to resolve and identify root causes. Requires Master's in Computer Science, Information Technology, Information Systems Security, or closely related IT field and two years of experience in job offered or in IT position(s) including Data Engineer; or Bachelor's and five years of experience. Background in education, training or experience must include familiarity with Amazon Web Services (AWS) Cloud infrastructure and implementations of large-scale applications; understanding and use of Python Coding; use and development of applications with PySpark, Spark; worked with production environments ETL/Data Warehousing/Big Data/Hadoop; proficient SQL experience in querying, data extraction/transformations and developing queries for a wide range of applications; proficient in designing Manual and Automated testing frameworks; demonstrated ability to provide communication of information/status to varying levels and audiences within the company. Company operates on hybrid model with three days in office and work-from-home available two days.
