Vanguard Delivery Manager, Talent and Learning HR Technology in Malvern, Pennsylvania

Vanguard is looking for a HR Technology expert to accelerate our commitment to delivering a best-in-class experience for our crew (employees). The Delivery Manager, Talent and Learning HR Technology in HR & Crew Systems will lead the strategic planning and implementation of modern talent and learning technology features for HR. This includes but is not limited to development of a technology enabled skills framework, performance management modernization, talent and succession platform delivery, learning campaign and annual certification training. This leader will have full responsibility for the development and execution of the technical roadmap that enables the HR strategy.

As the newest member of the HR and Crew (employee) Systems management team, you join peers who are passionate about reducing friction and improving the crew experience from pre-hire to retire (and alumni too.) You will be responsible for the leadership of functional areas driving implementation and execution of supported solutions, managing cross-functional or larger programs within the supported product area. You have a proven track record of building strong relationships with HR business clients and serving as a leader and visionary for the technical IT delivery team. You are known for effectively translating functional business needs into tangible actions that deliver results meeting both the expectations of HR clients and broader enterprise service delivery teams. You ensure delivery of a stable and scalable feature-set and are comfortable facilitating technical discussions across HR practitioners and cross-functional teams.

In this role, you will:

  • Hire, evaluate, and supervise crew. Provide guidance and training as necessary to develop crew. Set performance standards, review performance, and make informed compensation decisions in accordance with all applicable Human Resources policies and procedures.

  • Deliver software releases relating to the product for the business units, managing the prioritization, testing, evaluation, and selection of IT vendor products and features. Work with business clients to determine scope and develop environmental requirements for each project.

  • Work closely with leadership to develop and implement staffing and operational plans. Effectively leverage various staffing options and manage a global workforce. Participate in the development of short- and long-term department goals. Monitor and report on service delivery metrics and overall performance.

  • Develop and implement change to department policies and procedures to meet changing business needs and to achieve department objectives. Identify opportunities for continuous improvement and evaluate and recommend appropriate strategies and technologies for building products and delivering services.

  • Lead quality initiatives to improve the delivery of service levels. Work with senior management in the planning, development, and execution of short- and long-range goals.

  • Present status, metrics, and department initiatives at meetings with management and project peers. Develop and maintain relationships with key stakeholders to provide long-term collaborations and deliver successful business outcomes.

  • Ensure staff complies with information technology and information security policies and procedures and verify that deliverables meet requirements.

  • Participate in special projects and perform other duties as assigned.

    What it Takes:

  • Workday experience in Talent, Performance, and Recruiting, both hands-on and consultative required.

  • Experience with Learning platforms preferred.

  • Experience leading teams, a solid grounding in IT process, , excellent technical acumen, strong business process knowledge, and the desire to continuously seek ways to improve the Vanguard crew experience.

  • Must be highly self-motivated with strong communication skills and the ability to guide others in ambiguous situations.

  • Demonstrated ability to translate highly complicated technical solutions into understandable and logical components.

  • Minimum of six years related work experience, with at least four years of project management experience.

  • Undergraduate degree or equivalent combination of training and experience. Graduate degree preferred.
