Job Description
Job Purpose :
As a Cloud Engineer III, you will be responsible for designing, implementing, and managing cloud-based solutions to meet the organization's technical requirements. You will work closely with other members of the IT team to ensure the scalability, security, and reliability of cloud infrastructure and applications. This role requires deep technical expertise in cloud computing platforms, strong problem-solving skills, and the ability to communicate effectively with stakeholders.
Essential Functions :
Design and implement highly available, scalable, and secure cloud-based solutions using best practices and industry standards.
Manage and optimize cloud infrastructure to ensure high performance and cost efficiency.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand technical requirements and develop solutions that meet business needs.
Automate deployment, configuration, and management tasks using scripting and infrastructure-as-code tools.
Monitor cloud environments for performance, security, and compliance, and implement necessary remediation actions.
Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior team members.
Stay current with emerging technologies and trends in cloud computing and recommend adoption of new tools and practices.
Participate in on-call rotation and respond to incidents and outages in a timely manner.
Document architecture, processes, and procedures related to cloud infrastructure and applications.
Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives to enhance the efficiency and effectiveness of cloud operations.
Education:
- Bachelor's degree in computer science, Information Technology, or related field.
Certifications, Accreditations, Licenses:
- Relevant certifications such as AWS Certified Solutions Architect, Microsoft Certified: Azure Solutions Architect Expert, or Google Professional Cloud Architect
Experience:
- 7-10 years of experience
Special Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
7-10 years of professional experience as a Cloud Engineer preferred.
Experience with DevOps practices and CI/CD pipelines.
Knowledge of agile methodologies and experience working in agile teams.
Familiarity with big data technologies and platforms (e.g., Hadoop, Spark).
Experience with serverless computing services and architecture.
Deep understanding of cloud computing concepts and architectures, preferably with expertise in one or more major cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure, Google Cloud).
Proficiency in infrastructure-as-code tools such as Terraform, CloudFormation, or ARM templates.
Strong scripting skills with languages like Python, PowerShell, or Bash.
Experience with containerization technologies such as Docker and orchestration tools like Kubernetes.
Solid understanding of networking concepts and security best practices in cloud environments.
Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and manage multiple priorities.
Strong communication skills with the ability to interact with technical and non-technical stakeholders.
Supervisory Responsibility:
This position does not have employee direct reports but does serve as a "lead" role for others doing similar work.
Work Environment :
The work is performed remotely or in an office environment.
