What you will do
The Account Manager will focus on managing and growing key accounts within the banking and finance sector, primarily dealing with the provision of fire and security solutions. This desk-based role will also require field visits to nurture and maintain relationships with named accounts. The successful candidate will inherit a portfolio of smaller key accounts, aiming to grow both installation and service revenue through effective cross-selling and margin enhancement on contract terms. While there is focus is on existing accounts, the position also requires the applicant to seek new business opportunities along with collaborating and supporting Strategic Account Managers on larger bids and tenders.
How you will do it
Manage a portfolio of key account customers predominantly within the banking and finance vertical
Identify and implement growth strategies to increase installation and service revenue, maximising cross-selling opportunities and looking at new target customer base
Manage pipeline and sales opportunities effectively
Conduct field visits to maintain and strengthen relationships with named accounts, understanding their needs and requirements
Collaborate with Strategic Account Managers on larger accounts, providing support in bid and tender processes
Monitor account performance, preparation of KPI reports for presentation to customers
Network internally to build support structure across various departments
Identify and pursue new business opportunities within the banking and finance sector, leveraging existing relationships and market insights
Stay informed about industry trends, competitive landscape, and Johnson Controls’ product offerings, including mechanical fire suppression, HVAC, BMS, and digital solutions.
Provide exceptional customer service and support to ensure client satisfaction and retention
Participate in training and development initiatives to enhance product knowledge and sales skills
What we look for
Prior sales experience preferable though consideration will be given to internal applicants demonstrating business understanding within their application
Hold a UK Driver’s licence
Understanding of fire and security solutions offered by the business. Suppression, HVAC, BMS, or digital solutions is a plus
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build and maintain relationships with key stakeholders
Strong negotiation and problem-solving abilities
Takes ownership and escalates where necessary
Ability to work to targets
Where from a sales background, results-oriented with a demonstrated track record of achieving sales targets and driving growth
Where from an operational background, demonstrates experience managing multiple stakeholders across the business and/or client base
Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team environment
Proficient in Salesforce
Proficient in MS Office applications and shows a working understanding of Microsoft Excel
