Prysmian Group Maintenance Mechanic in Manchester, New Hampshire

Maintenance Mechanic

Shift: 3:00pm to 11:00pm shift

In this role you will report to the Maintenance Manager. You will be supporting daily production activities by troubleshooting, diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining mechanical equipment in a manufacturing environment.

Qualifications

  • Ability to troubleshoot and repair basic mechanical component systems Inspecting, troubleshooting, repairing, and/or replacing mechanical components such as motors, reducers, drive chains, sprockets, sheaves, pulleys, rollers, conveyor belts, bearings, and transfer plates.

  • Experience troubleshooting, adjusting, and replacing AC and DC electrical equipment such as batteries, fuses, motor starters, relays, switches, timers, servo driven equipment, photo electrical devices and encoders.

  • Inspecting, troubleshooting, repairing, and/or replacing pneumatic equipment such as diverters, lubricators, hoses, and coils.

  • Inspecting, troubleshooting, repairing, and/or replacing hydraulic equipment such as hoses, fittings, cylinders, and pumps.

  • Ability to read and interpret mechanical blueprints and parts specifications.

  • Experience with plastic extrusion equipment.

  • 3-5 years of experience in mechanical maintenance atmosphere.

  • Follow established programs, policies and practices that meet regulatory and company requirements.

  • Maintain communication with other departments, management and associates and notify them of any problems or concerns that may restrict the efficiency of production.

Responsibilities

  • Troubleshoot and repair systems on production machinery programs.

  • Perform and document the preventative maintenance programs.

  • Assist in building upkeep and upgrades.

  • Communicate with Operators and Production Supervisors on work being performed.

  • Follow established program, policies, and practices that meet regulatory and company requirements.

  • Maintain communication with other departments, management and associates and notify them of any problems or concerns that may restrict the efficiency of production.

Work Environment/Physical Demands

  • Willingness to learn new skills on the job.

  • Able to work productively with limited supervision.

  • Will be required to stand, bend, kneel, squat while working on equipment.

  • Employee will occasionally be required to lift and carry objects of 10-25 pounds as needed.

  • Employee will occasionally be required to lift and carry objects of 25-30 pounds as needed.

  • Employee will be required to work productively and cooperatively in a high-volume, fast paced environment and be able to respond efficiently and professionally to unanticipated problems.
