Northrop Grumman Space Systems is currently seeking a highly a qualified Material Process Engineer - EEE Component Engineer (Level 3 or Level 4) looking to join a highly qualified team located in Manhattan Beach, CA .
This position is for a Material Process Engineer - EEE Component Engineer (Level 3 or Level 4). The selected candidate will work in a team environment with other engineering organizations performing detailed technical reviews of drawings, specifications and manufacturing plans. Also, creating and maintaining part & process specifications to design, procure, assemble and install high reliability cables & harnesses. Assist design engineering with proper part selection, application, and alternative part selection. Participate in resolving design, manufacturing or supplier technical issues. Support anomaly investigations and failure analysis. Create test plans and procedures. Create and deliver briefings to update the team and management. Support Design Engineering, Procurement, Integration & Test, and Production.

Basic Qualifications (Level 3)
Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Chemistry, Material Science or other STEM degree with 5+ years of relevant experience in the design, assembly, and integration of cable harnesses (Master’s degree may count towards an additional 2 years of experience).
Familiarity with application of wire derating analysis
Familiarity with industry cable and harness standards: IPC/WHMA-A-620, NASA-STD-8739.4 and AS50881
Knowledge of harness fabrication, component (back-shell, connector, cable and wire) selection and installation processes with hands-on experience
Familiarity to EMI/RF principles and their application to harness shielding
Parts, Materials and Processes support to electrical harness for power distribution, RF, communication and high-speed data signal applications
Practical working experience with supporting ongoing design of space-flight electronic assemblies
Demonstrated knowledge in parts, materials and process selection, manufacturing support, failure analysis, and processing of materials for air or space hardware
Must have ability to obtain or currently possess a DoD Secret clearance.

Preferred Qualifications:
Advanced degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Chemistry, or Material Science plus 10 years of relevant experience
Experience with launch vehicle or spacecraft systems
Experience with preparing and presenting oral and written reports
Experience in developing and maintaining parts, materials and process specifications
Familiarity with PM&P requirements per Aerospace TOR-2006(8583)-5235 / -5236
Strong electrical/mechanical design and integration skills using 3D CAD software
Active, in-scope DoD Top Secret and/or SCI clearance
Salary Range: $97,500 - $146,300
Salary Range 2: $120,900 - $181,300
The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.
Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
