Summary:
Provide design and technical support for Great River Energy’s Transmission Division to meet the design requirements and ensure the objectives of the department are met.

A typical starting range for this position is $32.00 - $38.00 + hourly. Responsibilities: Job responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
· Support the design of projects and ensure accuracy by using AutoCAD, Adept, GRE and NESC (National Electric Safety Code) standards and specifications for Transmission Line projects.
· Update Maximo and Primavera with project related data.
· Recommend changes to GRE’s Computer-Aided Design (AutoCAD) Standards to maintain uniformity within GRE.
· Perform design duties as assigned for transmission line construction projects.
Qualifications:
· Two-year technical degree (such as drafting, electricity, electronics, or architecture)
AND
· 0-3 years of design or utility industry related experience.
· 1 year of transmission line design engineering technician experience within a utility industry strongly preferred.
· Knowledge of utility industry and its application within transmission line drafting and/or design.
· Skills in project management.
· Ability to meet deadlines with quality results.
· Ability to work within a team environment.
· Ability to identify opportunities to improve processes and enhance use of technology.
· Ability to create design drawings from mark ups provided by engineers or higher-level technicians.
· Ability to collect and analyze field data.
· Ability to identify and distinguish colors is required.
