Here, you will make an impact by:Provide support for maintenance systems, including utility metering, monitoring building performance and maintenance work order systems.Create specifications for purchasing mechanical utility system equipmentModel energy consumption of mechanical systemsProvide support for site utility plant and process systemsSupport Plant Engineering as they develop and manage project timelines and budgetsSuccessfully interact with multiple discipline teams including 3M Center operations, consultants, suppliers, and vendorsCommunicate effectively to project team, facility staff and project ownersTroubleshoot steam, chilled water issues in new and existing systemsEnsure application of applicable codes, standards, and internal guidelinesStay abreast of technology advancements in steam and chilled water generating and distribution systemsYour Skills and ExpertiseTo set you up for success in this role from day one, 3M requires (at a minimum) the following qualifications:Bachelors degree in an Engineering and/or Technical field (completed and verified prior to start) from an accredited universityTwo (2) years of experience with Plant Engineering, Manufacturing Operations and/or Utility Plant Operations in a private, public, government or military environmentAdditional qualifications that could help you succeed even further in this role include:Project experience in mechanical system installation and/or maintenanceHave 2 years of experience in steam, chilled water, and/or gas distributionHave 2 years of experience with high pressure piping systemsHave experience in utility metering and utility plant operationsBe proficient in use of project management skills for developing timelines, budgets, and coordination of activitiesBe proficient creating Microsoft Excel spreadsheets and Microsoft Word documentsBe proficient at using electronic tools for design, documentation, and communicationFunction as a team player with the ability to contribute in a matrix environmentWork location:On Site, Maplewood MNTravel: May include up to 10% Domestic travelRelocation Assistance: May be authorizedMust be legally authorized to work in country of employment without sponsorship for employment visa status (e.g., H1B status).Supporting Your Well-being3M offers many programs to help you live your best life both physically and financially.
