Here, you will make an impact by:Developing new products and product platforms to maintain and expand 3Ms aerospace adhesives portfolio to enable business growth and further our competitive position in the marketplaceCommercializing new products aligned to global customer needs in collaboration with division-wide, cross-functional teamsDeveloping a strong understanding of our customer/market needs especially as it relates to regulatory standards and critical to quality metricsCollaborating with research teams from Corporate Research and Business Labs to develop new technology, product, and manufacturing capabilitiesIdentifying and leveraging external interactions to accelerate technology and product developmentInitiating and contributing to the development of Intellectual Property and IP strategiesYour Skills and ExpertiseTo set you up for success in this role from day one, 3M requires (at a minimum) the following qualifications:Bachelors degree or higher from an accredited institution (completed and verified prior to start)and eight (8) years of product development, process engineering, or laboratory research in a private, public, government or military environment-OR-High School diploma/GED or higher from an accredited institution (completed and verified prior to start)and twelve (12) years of product development, process engineering, or laboratory research in a private, public, government or military environmentAdditional qualifications that could help you succeed even further in this role include:Masters or PhD degree in Chemical Engineering, Materials Science, Chemistry, or Polymer Science/Engineering from an accredited institutionExperience in regulated product categories with expertise in product risk assessments, product safety, and product reliabilityProven track record through publications, conference presentations, and/or published IPDemonstrated history of significant contributions to an organization through growth initiativesCollaborative interpersonal style with experience leading project teamsLeadership and networking skills and demonstrated ability to work effectively in a team environmentExcellent technical presentation skills and oral communication skillsTravel: May include up to 10% domestic/ internationalWork location:On-site (3M Center, Maplewood)Must be legally authorized to work in country of employment without sponsorship for employment visa status (e.g., H1B status).Responsibilities of this position may include direct and/or indirect physical or logical access to information, systems, technologies subjected to the regulations/compliance with U.S. Export Control Laws.U.S. Export Control laws and U.S. Government Department of Defense contracts and sub-contracts impose certain restrictions on companies and their ability to share export-controlled and other technology and services with certain "non-U.S. persons" (persons who are not U.S. citizens or nationals, lawful permanent residents of the U.S., refugees, "Temporary Residents" (granted Amnesty or Special Agricultural Worker provisions), or persons granted asylum (but excluding persons in nonimmigrant status such as H-1B, L-1, F-1, etc.) or non-U.S. citizens.To comply with these laws, and in conjunction with the review of candidates for those positions within 3M that may present ccess to export controlled technical data, 3M must assess employees' U.S. person status, as well as citizenship(s).The questions asked in this application are intended to assess this and will be used for evaluation purposes only.
