    Position Summary

    Maintain and carry out a full preventative maintenance program in relationship to the buildings at Sunland.

    The Work You Will Do

    Move furniture and equipment, load; unload trucks with furniture, and building materials such as couches, chairs, boxes, lumber, and general supplies, etc. Assist other trades and staff with labor to complete task such as digging ditches, lay pipe, and pull wire and load material. Any labor task to keep Sunland running on a daily and on-going basis.

    Perform a full paint program including all paint preparation, painting all exterior and interior walls, staining, painting signs, autos, sanding and finishing sheetrock daily by following standard maintenance protocol within the time frame designated by supervisor.

    Example but not limited to repairing, installing, and changing windowpanes, repairing, and cleaning roofs and gutters, wash walls, clean and paint rooms any task deemed necessary to preserve the life of the building on a daily and ongoing basis. Keep all preventative maintenance records deemed mandatory up to date.

    Perform any task to keep the equipment clean, operating, and safe on a daily and on-going basis.

    Maintain tool control and tool control logs. Process work orders.

    Perform other related duties as required.

    Complete all assigned staff training deemed mandatory.

    Minimum Qualifications

    Skill in using tools and equipment in maintenance and repair work.

    Ability to lift 50 pounds.

    Ability to climb ladders.

    Ability to work in multiple climate conditions.

    Knowledge, Skills, And Abilities

    Knowledge of: Procedures and methods for installing, repairing, and maintaining refrigeration and air-conditioning units and component parts.

    Ability to: Read blueprints and schematic drawings. Ability to plan, organize and coordinate work assignments. Ability to communicate effectively. Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with others.

    Demonstrate Skills in: Using hand tools. Skill in installing, repairing, and maintaining refrigeration units and component parts.

    As a condition of employment, a person appointed to a position in the State Personnel System is required to participate in the Direct Deposit Program. Rather than receiving a paper paycheck, your funds will be deposited directly into your account at your financial institution. This will be accomplished by Electronic Funds Transfer. Banks, savings and loan associations, and credit unions are eligible to accept such deposits. Retirement funds are also required to be in the Direct Deposit Program.

    Background Screening Requirement

    It is the policy of the Florida Agency for Persons with Disabilities that applicants for employment undergo Level 2 employment screening in accordance with the requirements of Chapter 435, Florida Statutes, as a condition of employment or being permitted to serve as a volunteer.
