Kopec Veterinary Associates, PC Equine Husbandry Technician in Marietta, Pennsylvania
1 Equine Husbandry Technician w/ Kopec Veterinary Associates, P.C. at 400 Stackstown Road, Marietta, PA 17547. Safely and competently handle, train, and groom young horses, broodmares, and stallions by performing tasks such as: identifying/catching horses in fields, affixing halters/lead ropes, leading from field to barn, loading/unloading equines from transport vehicles, perform basic grooming tasks (bathing, brushing, hoof care, clipping). Must display a thorough knowledge of equine care and management. Feed and monitor broodmares for impending foaling. Assist with foal delivery, aftercare, and routine healthcare management/monitoring of all equine stock. Restrain horses for care by veterinarians, farriers, or other professionals. Administer oral and/or intramuscular medications, provide select treatments for breeding or hospitalized horses under veterinarian or licensed veterinary technician guidance. May perform grounds management and maintenance of clinic and breeding facilities, including cleaning/sanitizing stalls, barns, and other areas as well as operating equipment such as tractors, sprayers, ATVs, weed-eaters, blowers, etc. Must be willing to work outdoors in all environments and temperatures ranging from 10-100F. Work involves repetitive movement, extensive walking, and/or lifting/carrying large or heavy items weighing up to 60 lbs.
