JOB REQUIREMENTS: POSITION SUMMARY The function of this position is the management of the material process through different departments in order to ensure the right material gets to the right place at the right time. This includes working with Production Planning and Control and supporting Manufacturing to ensure proper assessment and resolution of material related shortages. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned. Lead, mentor, be first point of contact among Planners for high level issues. Work proactively with Production Planning and Control, Engineering, and Manufacturing to ensure material availability in support of production need dates. Support material management in resolution of shortages related to production orders. Ensure that material discrepancies are resolved and corrective actions are taken to rectify future issues. Work cross functionally on material related process improvement projects to ensure our success. Take ownership of material planning issues that arise, including over or under delivery. Responsible to follow up/escalate actions in the event of material shortages that affect production. Seek and recommend solutions to overcome issues arising in order to meet production requirements and address operational risks Manage inventory risk and ensure that contingency plans are in place Ensure that material scheduling strategy and processes are in place and work effectively in order to ensure material supply meets production requirements with minimum stick levels, whilst optimizing costs Carry out oversight of entire material timeline from Engineering to Production Be prepared to carry out supplier visits to timely material deliveries Tenacious commitment to continuous improvement Review/manage objectives and KPIs COMPETENCIES: SPARC Safety first People oriented, determined to assist where able Accountability and Ownership: Demonstrate a sense of urgency, ownership in your role Respect peoples differences and be open to differing opinions and beliefs Continue to improve your current role and help develop the role for the future based on lean management.
