General Motors Quality Specialist - Diagnostics - Infrastructure QA Rep in Markham, Ontario

Job Description

Quality Specialist - Diagnostic - Infrastructure QA Reps ensures applications meet GM standards for functional, system, quality, security, performance and architecture requirements. Ability to drive intermediate level of test planning, execution and quality reporting of software applications through project engagements and sustaining software test activities. This includes the creation of manual and automated test cases and test execution plans. Organizes and executes test activities to ensure applications meet GM standards for quality, security, performance and architecture requirements.

The Opportunity

The successful candidate will be part of a team of engineers responsible for ensuring quality through comprehensive testing of new diagnostic software solutions for high performance compute platforms and sensors, including LiDARs, radars, cameras. You will work cross-functionally with multiple teams to quickly deliver high quality, production level code that is core to the diagnostics of autonomous and active safety systems. Core Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with the Software Developers and Architecture members of the Product Scrum to develop comprehensive test plans aligned to software specifications

  • Oversee execution quality of test plans using SIL, HIL, and in-vehicle techniques to ensure on time to release milestone

  • Track bugs and defects identified within the supported Product Scrum

  • Be the point contact for the supported Product Scrum in the Diagnostic QA Community of Practice

  • Share domain knowledge from the supported Product Scrum into the QA Community of Practice

  • Support implementation of the new testing techniques rolled out through the Community of Practice.

  • Develop automated tests for SIL and bench environments

  • Participate in software and requirement reviews enabling testable software products

  • Participate in test plan reviews and contribute to the team’s testing strategy

  • Develop simulation requirements and manage timing to align delivery of testing environments with production milestones

  • Generate test reports and present results to software and requirements teams

  • Assist with documenting standards and best practices for consumption by product development teams

  • Assist with manual testing responsibilities, such as regression and feature testing, when tests cannot be automated

Required Skills and Experience

  • 3+ years’ experience developing and executing test cases in various environments

  • Experience with test automation and continuous integration tools

  • Experience in development on Windows/Linux platforms

  • Experience with scripting tools in Python

  • Ability to read and review complex algorithms in C, C++, and Simulink

  • Excellent oral and written communication skillsAbility to work independently and in a team environment, interfacing with GM engineers globall

  • Must be legally allowed to work in Canada and be able to travel to the US

  • Must have a valid Canadian driver’s license

Preferred Skills and Experience

  • Experience with ADAS Diagnostic Infrastructure domain (eg: GB6000/SDV6000, GB6001/SDV6001)

  • Experience with testing in vehicles and simulated environments

  • Experience with automotive test tools (INCA, CANoe, VehicleSpy, ControlDesk, Applied Intuition)

  • Experience with Git, Gerrit, Bit Bucket, Jira, and Jenkins

  • General knowledge of automotive systems (Powertrain, Chassis, Adaptive AUTOSAR, CAN/LIN communication

  • Experience with functional safety and ISO 26262

  • Experience with unified diagnostic services and ISO14229

  • Knowledge of active safety components, such as radars, lidars, ultrasonic sensors, etc.

Education

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Chemical, Electrical, Computer, Mechatronics, System Design) or equivalent

This position is classified as a Hybrid position, meaning the successful candidate will work at our Markham office three (3) days per week.
