Raytheon Intelligence and Space (RI&S) in Marlborough, MA is seeking a Video Engineer to join our Hardware and Infrastructure (HW&I) team in developing the next generation air traffic control and weather systems for civil and military customers around the world. Our STARS Air Traffic Control (ATC) system is deployed in every airport across the US and we are looking to add to our team.
This position is for a design engineer who will work with product leads and other team members on a variety of tasks related to the design and development of systems using primarily Commercial-Off-The-Shelf (COTS) video related products.
Tasks will include:
Research and selection of COTS hardware relating to the ATC video systems
System prototyping and integration in the lab
Participating in design discussions and reviews
Coordinating with internal and external stakeholders and customers
Investigation and resolution of hardware issues, supplier product changes, device configuration issues, or customer change requests
Device configuration definition

The candidate must possess strong critical thinking skills and must also have experience meeting system requirements, schedule deadlines, and project budgets. Clearance Requirement: US Citizenship required and ability to obtain DoD Secret Clearance.
Experience taking a system design concept from the block diagram or requirements level and developing a complete solution and then verifying the design via integration and test activities
Experience incorporating various video protocols, firmware considerations, signal strength and cabling best practices, timing specifications, display resolutions and other video related characteristics into your designs
5+ years of relevant work experience
Demonstrated knowledge and practice developing and implementing COT video technology
System level hardware integration and troubleshooting skills
Experience collaborating in development with other engineering disciplines, supply chain, suppliers, field engineering, and customers to develop and deliver solutions
Effective communication skills, both oral and written, as well as thorough knowledge of Microsoft Office products (Word, Excel, Visio, and PowerPoint)
Willingness and ability to support occasional domestic travel and potential international travel
Current or in-progress Electrical Engineering certification(s)
Experience with air traffic control or weather system hardware
Proven innovator of new and emerging technologies
Lead role experience for development efforts
Thermal and power design or analysis
Video environmental considerations knowledge
Experience working in a Federally regulated environment
Bachelor's degree is required, STEM degree is preferred. Along with 5+ years’ of relevant experience
