Position Summary:

Works closely with service line leadership to implement solutions that hardwire quality and process improvement initiatives.

Reports to: Director

FLSA: Exempt

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

Acts as project manager and facilitator for major projects that support the Heart and Vascular service lines strategic priorities Drag Edit Delete

Establishes measurement and data management approaches to achieve desired project results. Drag Edit Delete

Develops and supports a standardized performance improvement approach to influence the service lines overall PI culture. Drag Edit Delete

Provides oversight for the various data registries relevant to the service line, including STS, ACTION/MI, ACC NCDR CathPCI, ICD, ACC/STS and TVT assuring data quality and integrity and timeliness of submission. Drag Edit Delete

Establishes meaningful measures of service line performance in alignment with BMC2 and hospital strategic priorities and in collaboration with the Duke Heart Network. Drag Edit Delete

Works collaboratively with departments, managers and medical staff in interpretation of data and implementation of service line related PI projects. Drag Edit Delete

Coaches physicians and staff in a standardized approach to performance improvement Drag Edit Delete

Provides leadership in support of achieving and maintaining related accreditation requirements including ACC Cath Lab and Chest Pain Accreditation Drag Edit Delete

Serves as ACC accreditation coordinator

Minimum Qualifications:

Minimum Education Associate's degree in health care field Bachelor’s degree in health care field or quality management (Preferred) *Years of relevant experience in quality/performance improvement may be substituted for required education. Drag Edit Delete

Required Skills Requires critical thinking skills, decisive judgment and the ability to work with minimal supervision. Must be able to work in a stressful environment and take appropriate action. Drag Edit Delete

Minimum Work Experience 1 year experience in cardiovascular services (Preferred) Drag Edit Delete

Required Skills Certifications: Certified Professional in Quality and/ or Process Improvement (Preferred)
