JOB REQUIREMENTS: Assists in implementation of curriculum within the established guidelines. Establishes and implements curriculum within the established guidelines. Supervises the children, classroom, and all activities including ADA accommodations where appropriate. Follows all procedures and standards. Makes ongoing, systematic observations and evaluations of each child. Cultivates positive relationships, conducts parent conferences, and maintains effective communication with parents. Engages parents as volunteers and connects them to the YMCA. Maintains program site and equipment. Attends and participates in family nights, program activities, staff meetings, and staff training. Performs other duties as assigned. Meets required continuing education requirements. Child Abuse Prevention and Blood Borne Pathogens training upon start of employment Maintain a safe play environment. Observe and monitor children\'s play activities. Communicate with children\'s parents or guardians about daily activities, behaviors, and related issues. Support children\'s emotional and social development, encouraging understanding of others and positive self-concepts. ***** OTHER EXPERIENCE AND QUALIFICATIONS: Meets educational and experience qualifications established by Wisconsin DCF 251 Licensing Rules For Group Child Care Centers. At least 18 years of age. CPR, First Aid, AED certifications and Child Abuse prevention training within 30 days of hire date. Previous experience working with children in a developmental setting preferred. Ability to plan, organize and implement age-appropriate/developmentally appropriate program activities. Previous experience with diverse populations. Ability to develop positive, authentic relationships with people from different backgrounds.
