Medical Assistant

Position Purpose:

Provides support in the medical field by performing various medical and clerical activities to assure quality care and a more efficient work place.

POSITION QUALIFICATIONS

Education [formal]:

  • High School Diploma and graduate of an approved school for medical assistant required.

  • Credentialed as a medical assistant is required. (CMA, RMA, NCMA)

  • A minimum of six months work experience in a health care facility performing duties relating to patient care is preferred.

  • Additional experience involving computer knowledge.

Hours:

Monday through Friday 8 AM to 5 PM No weekends or Holidays

Patient Care Assistant

Position Purpose:

The Patient Care Assistant (PCA) will provide assistance with clerical and clinical activities inherent to physicians or advance care practitioners (ACP) practicing in the clinic setting. This assistance will be under the direct oversight of the physician or ACP. The physician or ACP will review and approve actions to taken at key junctures during patient care. The intention is to minimize the physician/ACP's clerical functions while maximizing his/her clinical role, thus improving patient flow and satisfaction, under the physician or ACP's direct oversight.

POSITION QUALIFICATIONS

Education:

  • Successful completion of a formal Nurse Aid or Emergency Medical Technician course/training verified through transcript or original program certificate of completion OR

  • Graduate of a Medical Assistant program OR

  • Currently enrolled in an A.D.N., B.S.N., program with successful completion of first semester of A.D.N. program,

  • OR first year completion of nursing courses in BSN OR

  • Graduate of an A.D.N., Diploma, BSN or LPN program.

  • A minimum of six months work experience in a health care facility performing duties relating to patient care is preferred.

  • Additional experience involving computer knowledge
