Dart Bank West Town Payments Underwriting Support I in Mason, Michigan
JOB SUMMARY: Underwriting Support will gather, obtain, and review various types of merchant applications. Once the file has been established, Underwriting Support will submit the file to the Underwriter for final review. Underwriting Support will be required to work closely with the Underwriter; consistently demonstrating the ability to make ethically sound decisions in the best interest of the department and for Dart Bank. Further, the individual in this role will be responsible for maintaining all policies and procedures set by the VP of Credit, West Town Payments, and Dart Bank.
II. JOB DUTIES:
Consistently conducts a thorough and comprehensive business and organizational review. Works collaboratively and cooperatively with other staff to complete the underwriting process. Assists the Risk team in ongoing investigations whenever necessary. Efficiently and effectively manages assigned tasks and meets all deadlines. Recommends process improvements and helps drive them down through the department. Supports and helps implement organizational initiatives. Ensures the security and confidentiality of private customer information. Protects against unauthorized access to or use of customer information that could result in harm or inconvenience to the customer. Exercises discretion and work independently to make judgements with respect to matters of significance, and to be able to discern items that can impact risk to the bank. Effectively manages expectations and changing priorities. Adheres specifically to all Bank policies and procedures, Federal and State regulations, and laws including the Bank Secrecy Act. Performs other duties as required.
III. JOB SPECIFICATIONS:
Education: A bachelor's degree or equivalent relevant experience.
Skills:
Strong verbal and written communications skills. Must be a creative thinker and proactive problem solver with a history of working efficiently and effectively, meeting deadlines and following projects through to completion. Must be organized and detail oriented. Strong computer skills; including a working knowledge of Microsoft. Office Suite as well as knowledge of computer systems as they relate to credit card processing. Experience:
2 years of recent underwriting experience required; 3 years of experience preferred. A broad understanding of the widely used and established underwriting principles within the credit card processing industry. A strong knowledge of credit analysis principles and pertinent laws. Excellent business, financial statement, collateral analysis, and research skills. Some knowledge of economic and accounting principles and practices, and the analysis and reporting of financial data.

Physical Demands/Work Environment Requirements:
Vision, hearing, speech, movements requiring the use of wrists, hands and/or fingers. Must have the ability to work approximately 40 hours per week to fulfill the essential functions of the position.

Must have the ability to make decisions and exercise discretion when necessary.
