How you will make an Impact (Job Summary) SPX is a diverse team of unique individuals who all make an impact. As a welder, you will work as a team to meet on time delivery and exceed customer satisfaction. You will complete a variety of tasks with the overall goal of creating functional metal components primarily by performing MIG tack welding operations. What you can expect in this role (Job Responsibilities) While each day brings new opportunities at SPX, your core responsibilities will be: Safety Follow all safety rules and adhere to core value of business Maintain general work areas and/or equipment used in a clean and orderly condition Ensure proper and effective operation of machine and tools throughout entire process. Report repairs and/or issues to team lead or supervisor Quality Confirm material, sizes, and parts match work order/job tickets Ensure all parts and surfaces are free from defects Able to self-monitor quality of own work, and report to lead or supervisor unusual, defective, or operating difficulties Complete all tasks and work within designed quality guidelines Accurately document work performed using company required documents and procedures Delivery Ability to weld to specifications, and out of position, on mild steel and stainless steel including vertical up Read blueprints, schematics, work orders and/or assembly sketches Coordinate staging and sequencing of parts, productions items, and product components Prepare both metals and work surfaces for the production process Select appropriate tools, materials, gas ratios, and build fixturing/shipping brackets as needed Transfer completed product to next workstation/process using cranes and forklift as needed Perform light maintenance on equipment, machines, and other devices used in the normal course of work performed Complete tasks as directed with minimum supervision Culture Desire to do the right thing Team player, assisting other team members and departments as needed with other duties not routine to position Punctual, on time, ready to work designated shift, every day What we are looking for (Experience, Knowledge, Skills, Abilities, Education) We each bring something to the table, and we are looking for someone who has: Required Experience 1 year MIG welding in production/manufacturing environment Mechanical aptitude Preferred Experience, Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Basic math skills Strong attention to detail and quality, working within precise limits and/or standards of accuracy Forklift certification Overhead crane operation Self-driven, able to work independently, and as a team Excellent problem solving and troubleshooting skills Education & Certifications<
