SRS Distribution Inc. National Accounts Specialist in McKinney, Texas

JOB SUMMARY

The National Accounts Specialist is responsible for creating a superior customer experience while meeting all business objectives. The National Accounts Specialist leads a team of employees to ensure company standards for performing sales, service, and operations are ingrained in everything we do. The National Accounts Manager serves as the Subject Matter Expert (SME) in all matters related to the National Accounts Specialist performance. The National Accounts Specialist motivates, teaches, recognizes, and provides a positive culture through daily coaching. The focus is on continuous improvement – striving to be the best.

Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities

LEADER - The person who guides or commands a group or organization.

  • Maintain the integrity of the organization – keep your word.

  • Understand what the perfect order looks like and strive to make every customer interaction compliant with our “Order to Cash” philosophy.

  • Create a productive environment and lead with a sense of urgency. Communicate your expectations for the completion of subordinate responsibilities, and routinely follow up to ensure they are completed correctly and on time.

  • Be organized – Utilize CRM to manage, plan, and execute company initiatives.

  • Coach National Accounts Specialist to achieve sales growth through the timely and friendly answering of incoming phone calls, as well as providing professional customer service in the sale and selection of materials.

  • Work closely with National Accounts Specialist to ensure a productive weekly sales plan through CRM.

  • Facilitate the organization of orders, deliveries, routing, pick-ups, and returns.

  • Ensure phones are answered within 2 rings and customers receive prompt service within the National Accounts Specialist team.

  • Lead constructive and engaging National Accounts Specialist meetings monthly.

EDUCATOR - A person who provides instruction or education; a teacher.

  • Maintain a thorough understanding of each job description within the National Accounts Specialist team and be able to perform the duties of any position.

  • Ensure that National Accounts Specialist employees adhere to all company policies and procedures.

  • Train National Accounts Specialist to become a trusted resource within in our industry through building customer relationships, product knowledge, systems proficiency, and time management.

  • Succession plan your National Accounts Specialist team by developing and retaining our employees to create a ‘bench’ of talent for promotion within the company.

  • Complete Monthly Performance Appraisals with National Accounts Specialist. Review the associates’ job description and expectations during the appraisal meeting.

  • Complete Performance Assessments when warranted. Use them to coach the correct behavior and recognize outstanding performance.

CUSTODIAN - A person who has responsibility for or looks after something, a guardian or protector.

  • Establish and maintain relationships with key accounts.

  • Create, follow up and resolve customer service issues within 24 hours.

  • Ensure the completeness and accuracy of daily National Accounts Specialist team administrative duties

  • Oversee all National Accounts customer pick-ups, delivery tickets and RMA’s.

  • Review all Special Orders to ensure their accuracy.

  • Provide feedback on employee performance to ensure compensation increases are equitable based on results and achievement.

  • Conduct a consistent review of the market via “Know Your Market”. Communicate trends, competitive information, knowledge or personal, etc. to senior leadership.

  • Utilize company events and promotions to further customer relationships.

REQUIREMENTS

  • Prior success operating, selling and leading sales team in roofing and/or building products in a B2B environment and managing a multi-million-dollar territory.

  • Have a passion for being a business partner to our customer and give them the tools and products needed to increase their sales and earnings.

  • Requires a person who is a self-starter and has great organization and communication skills.

  • Have a valid driver’s license, satisfactory driving record, and reliable transportation for local travel in your territory. There might be occasional travel to the corporate office in McKinney, TX.

  • Authorized to work for any employer in the US without sponsorship for any length of time.

  • Able to pass required pre-employment criminal, driving background check and drug test.

    Education and/or Experience

  • 3+ years in the building material distribution industry, promoting and selling all building products categories with demonstrated success in those products to a local contractor base.

    Skills/Specialized Knowledge

  • Knowledge of Microsoft Outlook, Internet, Word, and Excel

  • Ability to learn Agility operating software package.

  • Must possess an entrepreneur spirit, be self-motivated, and enthusiastic about our business.

  • Must have excellent customer service skills and attitude.

  • Must be detailed oriented and possess excellent organizational and time management skills.

  • Must be analytical and able to solve problems.

  • Must have good verbal and written communication skills.

  • Must be ethical and honest.
