Description We are seeking a diligent Legal Assistant to join our team, based in McLean, VA. The role is focused on patent legal and administrative tasks within the telecom industry. As a Legal Assistant, your role will encompass a variety of responsibilities related to foreign patent filings, maintaining patent data, and interacting with associates on patent matters.
Responsibilities
• Provide assistance with the firm's foreign filing and US docket
• File PCT applications and US domestic and national phase applications
• Proactively seek foreign filing licenses and instruct overseas attorneys on PCT nationalizations and Paris Convention filings
• Communicate effectively with associates about patent matters
• Stay updated on the status of patents and patent applications
• Prepare various patent forms and correspondence
• Prepare and e-file office action responses, information disclosure statements, petitions, issue fees, and other patent prosecution documents
• Prepare and send client correspondence in a professional and timely manner. Requirements

• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite
• Ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously and meet deadlines
• Familiarity with legal documents and terminology
• Comfortable working in a fast-paced environment
• Ability to maintain confidentiality of sensitive information
• Demonstrated ability to work well both independently and as part of a team
• Strong research and report-writing skills
• Commitment to professional ethics in working with highly sensitive, confidential information.
