Wells Fargo is seeking a Lead Commercial Real Estate Asset Manager (aka Portfolio Manager) on the GSE Watchlist. This team member will be responsible for managing a portfolio of Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac loans for the Wells Fargo GSE Watchlist. The Asset Manager performs all functions associated with monitoring the performance of a multifamily loan throughout its life, commencing with the initial funding and continuing until satisfaction of the debt or transfer to a special servicer pursuant to investor guidelines. In this role, you will:

  • Manage overall asset management of an assigned portfolio of Fannie Mae multifamily commercial real estate loans

  • Review and research complex, multifaceted, large scale, and long term business challenges that require in-depth evaluation of multiple factors including intangibles or unprecedented factors

  • Make decisions in complex and multifaceted situations requiring exceptional understanding of the function, policies, procedures, and compliance requirements that influence and lead broader work team to meet deliverables and drive new initiatives

  • Collaborate and consult with Commercial Real Estate Portfolio Management peers, colleagues, and mid level to more experienced managers to resolve issues and achieve goals

  • Lead projects, teams, or serve as a peer mentor

  • Serve as the primary relationship contact for the Borrower/ property management agent, providing customer service, first-line management and due diligence of the loan portfolio in compliance with investor requirements

  • Asset Management functions include monitoring, analyzing, and reporting property level operating performance, risk ratings, performing property physical inspections/assessment of on-site management staff/local market conditions, watchlist monitoring, and processing of lender consents

Required Qualifications, US:

  • 5+ years of Commercial Real Estate Portfolio Management experience, or equivalent demonstrated through one or a combination of the following: work experience, training, military experience, education

Desired Qualifications:

  • 5+ years demonstrating a high level skill set that encompasses financial analysis, real estate and property management operations, market knowledge, knowledge of commercial or multifamily mortgage and legal documents, and credit risk analysis

  • Experience with Fannie Mae and/or Freddie Mac multifamily asset management technology tools

  • Customer service focus with experience actively listening, eliciting information, comprehending customer issues/needs, and recommending solutions

  • Familiarity with Fannie Mae or Freddie Mac multifamily loan transactions

  • Extensive knowledge and understanding of credit and income producing real estate

  • Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills

  • Ability to read and understand complex commercial real estate loan documentation and securitization documents, including pooling and servicing agreements and related documentation

  • Exposure to multifamily real estate development, property management and/or underwriting

  • Ability to multi-task, achieve tight timeframes, and stay organized

Job Expectations:

  • Ability to travel up to 10%

  • 4 days a week in office; 1 day remote

Pay Range

$120,400.00 - $287,600.00
