AJFC Community Action Agency Natchez Case Worker I - Franklin County- Part time in Meadville, Mississippi

Job Title: Case Worker  Duty Station:  Franklin County         Work Hours:24 hours/week, generally Monday - Friday 8 a.m - 5 p.m. Pay:  $14,000 Resume / Application Closing Date: September 27, 2024.

Job Summary

This position maintains the county office.  The primary role of a Case Worker is to work directly with clients in scheduling appointments, interviewing and counseling, completing client intakes and reports, performs client follow-ups and determine client needs for financial assistance.

Essential Functions:

1.      Schedule and conduct client appointments in Virtual ROMA, interviews and assessments to determine eligibility.    

2.       Develop case plans with measurable goals and outcomes and conduct follow-ups with clients to monitor client progress.

3.       Check client files for accuracy and completeness daily.

4.       Accurately submit client intakes for payment.

5.       Assist in mobilizing county resources/partnerships to assist clients in meeting immediate and long-term needs.

6.       Make referrals for Weatherization services to SCCAA.

7.       Contact energy vendors to eliminate disconnection on behalf of clients.

8.       Submit Success Stories to the Program Director weekly.

9.       Assist with enrolling clients in training classes to meet their employment/educational goals.

10.    Emergency Services

a.       Responsible for submitting emergency approvals/client pledges to the Program Director/Case Manager Supervisor to eliminate client disconnections.

11.    Prepares free Income Taxes for clients.        

12.    Provides or make referrals for family counseling services, as needed.

13.    Submit monthly program reports to the Program Director by the last working day of the month.

14.    Conducts Community Needs Assessments on all clients to identify community needs.

15.    Conducts home visits as needed.   

16.    Attends and participates in training/workshops as directed and approved by Management.

17.    Responsible for daily maintenance of county office.

 

18.    Responsible for conducting Public Hearings and Community Action Day annually.

19.    Attend county Board Meetings.

Supervisory Responsibility:  This position has no supervisory responsibilities.

Work Environment:  This job operates in a professional office setting.  This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets, fax machines, and other virtual components.

Physical Demands:  The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to twenty (20) lbs. if necessary, to lift a food box. Specific vision abilities perception and ability to adjust focus. None

Position Type and Expected Hours of Work:  This is a full-time position and hours of work and days are Monday through Friday, 8:00am -- 5:00 pm.

Travel:  Occasionally

Required Education and Experience:  Social Work or college degree or at least three (3) years of work experience in a related area.  Daily access to an automobile and proficient computer knowledge.  Good oral communications skills.

Requirements

Social Work or related field, College Degree preferred.  At least three (3) years of work experience in a related area. Daily access to an automobile; proficient computer knowledge and good oral communication skills.
