Horizon Farm Credit Accountant in Mechanicsburg, Pennsylvania

Horizon Farm Credit is actively seeking an Accountant to join our team. Qualified candidate may work in the Westminster, MD or Mechanicsburg, PA branch location. Our ideal candidate is an analytical individual with strong communication skills, ability to multitask, and flexible to a changing work environment.

POSITION SUMMARY: In this position, you will perform a wide range of routine administrative and accounting tasks to support the Financial Reporting process and the Internal Controls over Financial Reporting (ICFR) process. Primary responsibilities will include preparation of reporting deadlines, creation of reports, maintaining supporting documents related to reporting, and coordinating the submission of financial reporting tasks. You will be responsible for coordinating deadlines with staff and meeting required deadlines, both internal and external. Responsibilities will also include coordinating ICFR tasks and assisting with administrative tasks related to the ICFR process.

Reporting:

 

  • IFCR administrative tasks and coordinator of ICFR process
  • Financial reporting administrative tasks and coordinator of reporting process
  • Preparation of internal and external financial reports required in compliance with regulatory agencies

Journal Entry Processing and Account Reconciliations:

 

  • Processing of routine to basic or moderate general ledger transactions, while ensuring appropriate documentation and compliance with procedures
  • Properly and timely prepares assigned account reconciliations

Education

Associates degree or equivalent work experience in Accounting or related field.

Experience

Generally, minimum to three plus years of accounting experience.

Skills

 

  • Possess strong communications skills, both written and oral to represent the Association in a professional manner.
  • Ability to initiate, organize and prioritize work required.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Excellent problem solving and decision-making skills.
  • Basic knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).
  • Basic knowledge of spreadsheets, word processing and other software.
  • Must possess analytical skills that are inherently required in an accounting/financial environment.
  • Must possess problem-solving skills necessary to solve routine accounting problems and make routine decisions.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to simultaneously work on multiple projects/assignments and meet deadlines.
  • Adaptable and flexible to a changing work environment.
  • Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer.

Salary Range: $49,200 - $60,300, Depending on previous experience.
