Description
We are providing an opportunity in the Education industry at Mechanicsburg, Pennsylvania, United States, for a Staff Accountant. The Staff Accountant will be integral to the financial operations of our organization, focusing on the management of accounts payable and receivable, bank reconciliations, and general ledger journal entries among other tasks.
Responsibilities:
• Handle the processing of accounts payable, including expense reimbursements, check requests, refunds, and issuing checks for payment in line with established procedures and approval processes.
• Manage accounts receivable, including invoice billing and cash receipts, with a focus on maintaining open accounts and undertaking collection efforts as necessary.
• Perform daily monitoring of bank accounts for subsidiary companies and record any activity, including direct deposits, fees, and transfers.
• Carry out the reconciliation of bank statements, investment statements, and general ledger accounts.
• Oversee the administration of company credit cards, including the collection of completed reports and receipts from staff, reviewing for completeness, accuracy, and approvals, and entering the journal entry in the accounting software.
• Assist with intercompany salary reports and record all intercompany expenses and corresponding transfers into subsidiary general ledger after invoices are received.
• Record credit card activity for affiliated programs, verifying accuracy and ensuring supporting documentation is in place.
• Ensure proper recordkeeping for all items pertinent to the position, adhering to retention guidelines.
• Use accounting software such as QuickBooks, Great Plains
Requirements • Proficiency in Accounts Payable (AP) management, including invoice processing and payment.
• Demonstrated experience with Accounts Receivable (AR), including billing, collections, and revenue recognition.
• Skilled in performing Bank Reconciliations to ensure accurate financial reporting.
• Familiarity with maintaining the General Ledger, including accurate recording of financial transactions.
• Ability to prepare and post Journal Entries, ensuring accuracy and compliance with accounting standards.
• Experience with Month End Close processes, including the preparation of financial statements and reports.
• Proficiency in using NetSuite for various accounting and financial tasks.
• Experience with Oracle-based financial systems, including the ability to generate and analyze financial reports.
• Familiarity with QuickBooks for managing and tracking company financial transactions.
• Knowledge of SAP, especially in relation to managing financial transactions and reporting.
