Cargill Technical Sales Manager Swine - Continental North West Europe in Mechelen, Belgium

Job Purpose and Impact

The Technical Sales Manager Swine has the responsibility of developing Cargill’s value added swine nutrition solutions business in North-West Europe, with dominant focus on Belgium and the Netherlands. The most important priority is the development and growth of the swine business together with feedmill customers and distributors (existing customers & prospects) through nutritional support of our customers’ nutritionists and sales teams. This approach will add value to the farmer by having improved access to world class nutrition solutions.

Key Accountabilities

• Develop and grow Trusted Advisor partnerships with target customers (feed mills & distributors) in Belgium and the Netherlands based on high nutritional solutions expertise. Research and identify customer requirements/expectations for existing and prospected customers

• Partner with business development consultant/key account manager to develop an ongoing engagement strategy for assigned customers and prospect accounts within area of scope (portfolio of products and services)

• Help identify customer requirements/expectations, develop existing and prospected customers.

• Monitor customer and competitor activity and industry trends

• Develop and maintain key-account plans, regularly reporting progress and forecasts as input for the regional commercial business and financial planning. Execute sales plans with strategies to protect, grow and diversify relationships with targeted customers

• Independently handle complex issues with minimal supervision, while escalating only the most complex issues to appropriate staff

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications

• Bachelor Degree in Animal or Veterinary Science

• Minimum of 4 years of demonstrated work experience in swine nutrition and/or husbandry in Sales and Technology

• Excellent communication skills in Dutch and English, both written and verbal

• Ability to travel 10-20% (indicative)

Preferred Qualification

• Ideally from 5-10 years experience

• Broad network within the industry

• Strong agricultural business acumen, Proven track record in customer relation management

• Demonstrated nutritional and farm management advisory and training skills

• Strong interpersonal relationship-building and influencing skills

• Self-starter, but team player

• Effective project management

• Ability to work in a multicultural environment

• Effective communication skills both written and verbal
