Robert Half Staff Accountant in Medina, Ohio
Description We are seeking a meticulous Staff Accountant in Medina, Ohio, to join our team. This role offers a contract to permanent employment opportunity. The Staff Accountant will be responsible for managing both accounts payable and receivable, performing bank reconciliations, and maintaining the general ledger.
Responsibilities:
• Manage accounts payable and receivable to ensure accuracy and timeliness • Perform bank reconciliations to verify the company's records are in line with bank statements • Maintain the general ledger and prepare journal entries • Analyze and review financial data to identify and resolve discrepancies • Assist in the preparation of financial reports and statements • Ensure compliance with accounting policies and regulatory requirements • Participate in financial audits and implement audit recommendations • Collaborate with the finance team to improve financial processes and systems • Support management with ad-hoc projects and financial analyses. Requirements • Minimum of 2 years of experience as a Staff Accountant or related role.
• Proficiency in Accounts Payable (AP) and Accounts Receivable (AR).
• Experience in performing Bank Reconciliations.
• Knowledge of General Ledger maintenance and management.
• Proficient in preparing and managing Journal Entries.
• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel.
• Familiarity with accounting software and systems.
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy in work.
• Ability to meet deadlines and manage time effectively.
• Solid understanding of accounting principles and financial reporting.
• Ability to maintain confidentiality of sensitive financial information.
• A CPA certification is a plus but not mandatory.
• Ability to adapt to changing business needs and requirements.
