Repairman A (Fuel & Lube Tech)

Titan Florida LLC has an immediate opening for a Repairman A (Fuel & Lube Tech) for Titan Florida, LLC Pennsuco Aggregates Division in Medley, FL. This wage, non-exempt position, is a high-skilled position requiring the ability to perform repair and maintenance of mineral processing equipment. General supervision is received from an immediate leadman and supervisor. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following:

Job Responsibilities:

  • Perform comprehensive safety checks and strictly adhere to all safety protocols and regulations within the quarry environment.

  • Maintain and conduct basic repairs on fueling and lubrication vehicles.

  • Accurately document all maintenance and repair activities performed, maintaining meticulous records.

  • Ensure the cleanliness and organization of both the exterior and interior of the shop and work areas, in strict compliance with company policies and established industrial waste handling procedures.

  • Regularly inspect lubrication vehicles and lubrication storage locations to ensure efficient fueling and lubrication of machinery.

  • Ensure that all heavy machinery, trucks, and vehicles used in surface mining operations are fueled efficiently and on schedule to minimize downtime.

  • Conduct lubrication activities, such as greasing moving parts and lubricating critical components on heavy equipment to reduce wear and tear.

  • Perform routine safety checks on equipment before fueling, ensuring that all safety features and equipment functions are working correctly to prevent accidents and hazards.

  • Be prepared to respond to fuel-related emergencies, such as spills or leaks, by following established safety protocols and assisting in cleanup efforts.

  • Inspect equipment for visible issues, leaks, or damage during the fueling process, reporting any abnormalities to maintenance personnel for timely repairs.

  • Conduct routine preventative maintenance inspections on heavy equipment used in mining operations.

  • Ensure that all fueling activities adhere to environmental regulations and best practices to minimize environmental impact.

  • Seek ways to optimize fuel and lubrication processes, such as recommending improvements in equipment maintenance schedules or fueling techniques to increase operational efficiency.

  • Perform utility tasks such as shoveling, water hosing, and others when required.

  • Collaborate with the mining team to coordinate equipment servicing schedules and optimize equipment uptime.

  • Perform safety inspections and actively participate in the safety committees.

    Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma or GED supplemented by technical or vocational maintenance training.

  • At least 3 years of experience in equipment maintenance.

  • Ability to perform classroom training to all levels of repairmen.

  • Positive attitude to achieve goals and deliver results individually and in teams.

  • Must be able to perform heavy work exerting up to 100 pounds of force occasionally: and/or up to 50 pounds of force frequently: and/or up to 20 pounds of force constantly to move objects.

  • Must possess the visual acuity to perform close inspection of moving and small parts, use of measurement devices.

  • Ability to understand and follow oral and written instructions sufficient to carry out repair orders and understand maintenance records and equipment specifications.

  • Ability to maintain basic records for repair work done.

  • Ability to perform assigned tasks properly and in a timely manner.

  • Thorough knowledge of occupational hazards and related safety practices.

  • Safety-minded.

  • Ability to speak, read, and write English.

  • Ability to understand and follow oral and written instructions to carry out sufficient repair orders.

  • Ability to perform assigned tasks properly and in a timely manner.

  • Basic knowledge of mathematics.

  • Ability to weld pipes and steel.

  • Thorough knowledge of the operating and repair characteristics of a variety of fixed mineral processing equipment.

  • Knowledge of principles and practices used to diagnose equipment problems (by use of computerized test equipment where applicable).

  • Ability to interpret technical service manuals.

  • Ability to operate personal computer and knowledge of basic computer applications, including computer generated parts and service manuals.

  • Must be able to enter and retrieve data from a computer.

  • Maintain a current Florida Driver’s License and a clean Motor Vehicle Record.

  • Ability to work well with others.

  • Ability to work at heights.

  • Capable of working in confined spaces.

  • Able to walk, kneel crouch, crawl, talk and hear.

    Shift:

    Must be able to work day shifts, night shifts, weekends and overtime as necessary.
