Job Description

The Critical Care Business Manager (South) functions as the primary customer contact for demand creation and as the trusted critical care advisor within targeted hospitals across Victoria, South Australia, Western Australia and Tasmania. Through the execution of marketing strategy techniques and promotion of Mallinckrodt Pharmaceuticals’ comprehensive offerings including products, contracts, distribution/services and 24/7 scientific and technical expertise; will achieve or exceed target objectives (MBO’s). Primary customers include Neonatal HCP’s, Physicians, Respiratory Therapists, Cardiac Anaesthetists, Nurses, and Hospital Executive Administrators. Role based in Melbourne.

Essential Functions

  • Achieving regional commercial objectives by executing marketing strategy techniques within target accounts and the Southern territory. Maintain and manage existing accounts while developing growth opportunities at new accounts or hospital expansion. Role includes developing and improving value of contracts at new and or existing accounts for services rendered.

• Proactively promote product for on label indications with key physician’s and provide regular in-servicing and education of the drug and device with nursing staff to ensure appropriate use

• Establishing and maintaining effective working relationships with Ikaria’s internal stakeholders including, Marketing, Customer Service, Medical Scientific Liaison’s, Clinical Specialists and Logistics.

• Adhering to company policy & procedures and comprehensive compliance program

• Meeting agreed commercial objectives and activity requirements

• Resolving/triaging customer issues including reimbursement issues, hospital contracts, medical information requests

• Managing operational aspects of field business including territory business planning, pre-call planning, administration

Minimum RequirementsEducation / Experience / Skills:• BS degree or equivalent, MBA a plus• Minimum of three years account management, business development and hospital sales experience; Preferences include hospital medical technology and/or pharmaceutical sales experience.• Knowledge of MTAA and/or Medicines Australia code of conduct• Preferable experience in respiratory sales and or Critical Care Sales• Proven track record of sales achievement and documentation of sales force ranking in the top percentage nationally.• Exceptionally driven with a high level of business acumen. Proven track record of achieving commercial results with existing and new med tech products.• Strong negotiation skills with a variety of customers including physician’s nurse unit managers and procurement.• Experience in contract negotiation and developing tender submissions.• Excellent planning and organizational skills, and strong written and verbal communication skills;• Strong collaboration and teamwork skills;• Excellent computer skills;• Persuasiveness.• Demonstrated initiative, adaptability and costumer focus.• High level of medical/ clinical knowledge

Valid driver's license required; required to pass product training testing
