The Opportunity

This is an opportunity for a Senior Civil Engineer with Water Industry, Planning, Design or Construction Experience.

You’ll be a key member of KBR’s Water team who, in a joint venture with John Holland has been delivering Melbourne Water’s complex infrastructure projects through major design and construction framework, that will see us supporting Melbourne Water for well over a decade of continuous service.

In addition, the team are delivering major capital projects to South East Water’s record $1.5 billion investment as part of a new industry partnership between Abergeldie, BMD & KBR (ABK). The 10-year contract will see ABK plan and deliver major infrastructure upgrades in partnership with South East Water as part of a new integrated capital works planning and delivery model.

As part of our team, you will play a key role in team development of junior engineers and strongly contribute to client relationships, technical oversight, and the commercial success of the business unit. You will collaborate with a diverse team of talented people who are committed to supporting our clients through long-term partnership arrangements; not to mention a key contributor to delivering projects.

Who are you?

We are looking for a delivery focused Senior Civil Engineer looking to take the next step and join our high performing Victoria Water team. You will be motivated by achievement, outcome-focused and present professionally and in a friendly manner to peers, clients, and stakeholders. 

You will have previous experience in a similar senior role in the water sector and effective communication and people skills. You will have experience in strategic planning and investigation and can produce high-quality reports and proposals.

You will have the following skills and experience:

  • Hold an accredited Bachelor of Civil Engineering

  • Design experience with knowledge of industry standards. Preferably experience with undertaking designs in accordance with the Melbourne Region Water Authority Design Standards (MRWA WSAA Standards).

  • Proven ability to work in engineering, and design modelling teams, work directly with Water Authority clients, and manage projects to scope, budget and program.

  • Previous experience gained within an engineering consultancy environment.

  • You are a Chartered Engineer (CPEng) or have eligibility to apply for this accreditation.
