QUALIFICATIONS

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Knowledge of applicable regulatory requirements
  • Experience in reading data design drawings and manufacturers installation manuals
  • Due to the nature of the job, interpret, write and understand the English language
  • Access to set of tools to perform work needed
  • Bend and work in tight spaces
  • Background check for required matters
  • Lawful US Persons as defined in 22CFR 120.15

PREFERRED SKILLS

  • Knowledge of 14 CFR Part 21, 25, 27, 29, 65 and 145.
  • Knowledge and Familiarity with STC, PMA, and other types of FAA approved data.
  • Familiarity with military, SAE, NAS, material and electrical components as well as electronic component standards
  • Knowledge of the use of avionics test sets and equipment
  • Minimum 3 years' experience in avionics installation and integration

REQUIREMENTS

  • Working conditions will most often be in an aircraft hangar, which may at times be loud, busy, hot/cold.
  • Perform the essential functions of this position with or without reasonable accommodation
  • Normal workday is 8 hours Monday - Friday
  • Overtime hours may be required from time to time
  • Travel worldwide to complete projects or tasks
  • Will be required to stand and/or sit for long periods of time
  • May be required to climb or balance; and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl.
  • Moderate to heavy lifting of up to 50 pounds regularly, pushing and/or pulling may be required
  • Bending, squatting, sitting, working from ladders

JOB DESCRIPTION and REQUIREMENTS: The Avionics Installer is responsible for a variety of tasks related to the avionics and electrical systems in various aircraft. These tasks include removal and installation of avionics and various electrical components, fabrication and installation of wiring harnesses and functional testing of installed systems.

Compensation: Depends on experience

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Perform installations, modifications and integration of various avionics systems and associated equipment in accordance with OEM installation manuals, drawings, and other approved data on 14 CFR part 23,25,27 and 29 aircraft
  • Complete assigned job cards and tasks within allotted time frame
  • Maintain required logs and records to include documenting the approved data for which the work was performed.
  • Install, program, update and troubleshoot radio communication and navigation systems, flight and engine instruments, inverters and flight control systems, using hand tools, multi-meters and soldering irons
  • Build, terminate and route wire harnesses in accordance with IPC 620, AC43.13 and manufacturers supplied data where applicable.
  • Lay out installation of aircraft assemblies and systems, following documentation such as drawings, manuals, and wiring diagrams
  • Care for and maintain the shop, equipment, and tools as assigned
