Health First Inventory Demand Planner - System Logistics in Melbourne, Florida
POSITION SUMMARY
The Inventory Demand Planner will use customer insights, time series analysis and predictive analytics to ensure inventory levels support patient care and limit waste in the Health First Supply Chain. The Inventory Demand Planner will also support the analysis of historical data, market trends and other factors to predict future demand for medical supplies within the Health First Distribution Center.
PRIMARY ACCOUNTABILITES
- Coordinates with distribution partner and additional suppliers to ensure timely delivery of supplies based on the forecasted demand and manage by exception.
- Identifies potential disruptions to Health First Supply Chain, such as natural disasters or unexpected surges in demand, and partner in developing contingency plans.
- Collaborates with stakeholders to gather input and ensure the forecast aligns with clinical needs, demand volatility, and market dynamics.
- Acts as Distribution Center representative to customers to communicate requested, not shipped products and outliers to Distribution Center leads for associate training.
- Completes or directs cycle counts to verify picking errors and make inventory corrections.
- Oversees the product overflow storage locations and movement to pick locations to ensure First Expiration, First Out (FEFO) and inventory accuracy.
- Verifies the on-hand count of legacy items pre, during and post conversion to prevent waste and financial impact to supply chain. This includes legacy products returned from the hospitals, medical group, and off-site locations.
- Supports recall procedures at the Distribution Center as needed.
- Act as intermediary between Hospitals, Business Contract Analyst, and the Distribution Center to align logical unit of measure with acute site storage limits and in nonprocedural kanban units.
- Review, analyze and correct distribution partner Ins/Outs, vendor directs when product warrants local stock.
- Monitors lead time, safety stock and allocations to forecast inventory levels to equal no less than seven (7) days on hand.
- Conducts walkthroughs in the Distribution Center daily to review locations with less than ten (10) days inventory on hand. Escalates concerns and suggested solutions to Buyer, Business Contract Analyst and System Manager Supply Chain Management (SCM) Distribution Center for resolution.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
• Education: Associate degree in supply chain management, Transportation and Logistics, Demand Forecast Planning, Analytics, or related field. • Work Experience: Three (3) years’ experience in materials management, logistics/distribution, inventory management, or forecasting in healthcare. • Licensure: None • Certification: Completion of Material Handling Equipment (MHE) Safety Course within thirty (30) days of start and maintained. • Skills/Knowledge/Abilities: o Knowledge of LEAN or another model to identify opportunities for improvement to achieve goal and/or outcome. o Ability to analyze complex tasks, systems and problems to work towards desired goal, objective or outcome with minimal supervisor/oversight. o Manage several complex projects simultaneously. o Work tactfully and effectively with team members, vendors and customers. o Work independently within a broad scope of guidelines and established policies and goals. o Persistent attention to detail to formulate effective solutions to complex problems. o Prioritize and balance work projects and demands, and able to work under pressure and meet planned, unplanned, changing, or inflexible deadlines. PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS • Education: Bachelor’s degree in in Supply Chain Management, Transportation and Logistics, Demand Forecast Planning, Analytics, or related field. • Work Experience: o Hospital experience. o Previous experience in materials management information systems software (PeopleSoft preferred). • Certification: Certified Materials Resource Professional (CMRP). * * PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS • Physically agile; may require walking, standing, running, bending, stooping, kneeling, climbing, or crouching frequently. • May occasionally include lifting or moving objects up to 50 pounds, with or without assistance. • May require moving in different positions to accomplish tasks in various environments including tight and confined spaces, including reaching out and above shoulders, or overhead. • May lift, turn, pull, push, or ambulate people and/or equipment with or without assistance up to 90% of the assigned shift. • May be exposed to inside and outside environments with varied temperatures, air quality, lighting, and/or low to loud noise. • Communicating with others to exchange information. • Visual acuity and hand-eye coordination to perform tasks. • Workspace may vary from open to confined, onsite or remote.
