Job Title: Quality Engineer
Description:
We are looking for a dedicated Quality Engineer to join our team. This role involves training and mentoring inspection personnel in inspection methodology, as well as creating, developing, and implementing programs for use with Coordinate Measuring Machine (CMM) running Calypso software and FARO inspection arm. The Quality Engineer will set up and operate CMM and FARO inspection arm using pre-existing inspection programs, verify and validate these programs per quality procedures, and inspect hardware using standard inspection tools.
Key Responsibilities:
Train and mentor inspection personnel in inspection methodology.
Create, develop, and implement programs for CMM and FARO inspection arm.
Set up and operate CMM and FARO inspection arm using pre-existing inspection programs.
Verify and validate CMM and inspection arm programs per quality procedures, including correlation using secondary inspection methods.
Perform inspections and record inspection data associated with First Piece Inspections, First Article Inspections, Receiving Inspections, Final Inspections, and Work-in-Process Inspections.
Complete accurate first article packages for submission to Quality Engineer.
Ensure nonconforming material is properly segregated and controlled until properly dispositioned.
Assist in maintaining inspection equipment to ensure timely calibration and proper accounting for lost, damaged, or out-of-service equipment.
Understand and interpret engineering drawings, schematic diagrams, or formulas, and confer with management or engineering staff to determine quality and reliability standards.
Read and understand industrial/aerospace specifications including ISO9001 and AS9100, military specifications, industry specifications, and manufacturing instructions.
Utilize and understand operation process sheets and inspect parts per character control sheets.
Work efficiently to shop order standards while following company processes, policies, and procedures.
Perform all tasks safely and maintain a clean, organized work environment.
Work with Quality Engineering to implement responsive quality plans, procedures, schedules, and resource allocations to assure optimum quality support.
Coordinate efforts to gather, organize, monitor, and analyze information on products and processes.
Provide ongoing quality system support, including performing internal audits and ensuring implementation of root cause corrective actions.
Review and approve supplier corrective actions.
Monitor development activities to assure contract compliance and assist in FAI collection and reporting.
Ensure proper documentation for all customer shipments.
Support the mission, values, and culture of the organization.
Assist in the overall health and performance of various quality systems in the company while continually improving efficiency and accuracy.
Become certified as a Supplier Quality Representative (SQR) for all customers as required.
Perform other related duties as required.
Develop and implement quality system processes and support quality improvements.
Drive process and product improvement initiatives across multiple functional disciplines.
Review and approve engineering/test and contractor documentation to ensure appropriate quality requirements are addressed.
Lead quality improvement teams, material review boards, and failure review boards.
Evaluate and disposition non-conforming material.
Skills and Qualifications:
Proficient in quality engineering.
AA/AS degree preferred.
Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.
Ability to work under general direction and independently manage tasks.
Commitment to safety and quality in all tasks.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $32.00 - $42.00
