Job Summary

Outstanding opportunity to join the EOIS quality team in Melbourne, FL as a Senior Quality Engineer!

Job Responsibilities

  • Responsible for developing program quality system processes and supporting product quality improvements

  • Develop, maintain and deploy quality plans and processes that translate customer requirements into planned activities

  • Perform analyses of program requirements for resource allocations to assure optimum quality support

  • Review and comprehension of contract documentation

  • Participate in development activities to assure contract compliance, as required

  • Lead a group of engineers, technicians and/or inspectors during reviews, investigations and training events

  • Lead a group of engineers and/or program team members during customer events

  • Collect and review data and perform trend analyses

  • Drive process and product improvement initiatives across multiple functional disciplines

  • Develop, implement and maintain formalized quality inspection processes

  • Provide ongoing quality system support to include performing internal audits and process reviews

  • Lead product quality improvement teams such as Material Review Boards and Failure Review Boards

  • Evaluate and process of non-conforming material

  • Develop, maintain, and present program quality metrics internally and to customers

  • Provide technical support for Assembly/Test/Inspection personnel to include executing workmanship improvement plans, improving inspection methods, specifying appropriate sampling plans, and interpreting and revising specifications

  • Act as main customer and senior management interface in resolving customer quality issues and driving root cause and corrective action on process and product quality issues

  • Develop and deploy SPC initiatives

  • Review and approve engineering, software, test and manufacturing documentation and provide input to assure appropriate quality requirements are addressed

  • Participate in critical supplier selections and support supplier quality initiatives, including on-site audits, evaluating prototypes, and reviewing and approving of supplier corrective actions

  • Establish programs to evaluate the precision and accuracy of production equipment

  • Responsible for financial impacts of quality process controls and inspections

  • Support, communicate, reinforce and defend the mission, values and culture of the organization

  • Attend appropriate customer, business or program meetings

  • Monitor and mentor junior quality engineers

  • Provide regular reporting of progress and status

  • Completion of assigned task on time and meeting technical requirements

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering or related technical field and a minimum of 5 years of experience

  • Proficient technical expertise and application domain knowledge

  • ASQ certification or Black Belt preferred

  • Proficient with ISO Standards, Six Sigma tools, statistics

  • Proficient with MS office Suite (specifically Excel, Word and Powerpoint)

  • Ability to understand military specifications and to read blueprints

  • Excellent interpersonal, negotiation, communication and writing skills

  • Ability to define problems and drive to root cause and effective corrective action
