What You Will Do:
Development of complex FPGA designs.
Define and capture requirements for new firmware designs using enterprise tools such as Jama
Create conceptual designs which include block level architecture, clock and reset distribution strategies, and bandwidth/latency analyses
Create detailed designs of the FPGA firmware at the register-transfer level with VHDL
Perform RTL synthesis and implementation using FPGA tools such as Vivado
Support board level integration of the FPGA firmware
Create verification artifacts for FPGA development
Present FPGA firmware design to certification authority
Oversee efforts and train less experienced designers
What You Will Learn:
Gain in-depth knowledge of aerospace transponders and Traffic Collision Avoidance Systems (TCAS).
Master the complete lifecycle of FPGA firmware design and verification for advanced aerospace applications.
Develop your project management skills, including schedule preparation and status reporting.

Qualifications You Must Have:
Typically requires a degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) unless prohibited by local laws/regulations and minimum 5 years prior relevant experience or an Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 3 years of experience or in absence of a degree, 9 years of relevant experience

Qualification We Prefer:
Experience with Mentor Graphics Questasim
Proficiency in VHDL is desired.
Experience working in Linux/Unix.
Excellent hands-on laboratory skills in testing and verifying FPGA designs in hardware, and familiarity with a wide range of test equipment.
Experience with aerospace certification of designs including familiarity with RTCA DO-254 is highly desired.
Ability to perform a variety of tasks with a quick learning ability.
Self-motivated and self-directed individual with little supervision necessary.

The salary range for this role is 77,000 USD - 163,000 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate’s work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.
