About the role The Sourcing Associate Global Commodity Manager plays a crucial role in coordinating and managing the purchasing, budgeting, scheduling, and overall management of selected categories within the mechanical commodity. The Associate Global Commodity Manager works cross functionally with many different departments and business units in aligning on supplier selection, maintaining, and improving component quality, negotiating costs, and developing component strategies for those categories that are assigned. The Associate Global Commodity Manager will report to and work closely with the VP, Global Sourcing and Supplier Quality who will provide guidance, coaching and mentoring. Responsibilities Oversee the purchase of selected mechanical categories and recommend suppliers for components under their range of categories. Develop negotiation strategies to ensure the best cost possible on the categories assigned. Work with Supplier Quality and suppliers to continually improve supplier performance and meet quality goals. Able to identify and resolve quality issues in the manufacturing facilities. Develop, communicate, and execute comprehensive strategies to achieve the desired results. Develop contracts and align with the various functional groups to get them approved. Able to review and develop a contract to avoid risk. This will give the Associate Global Commodity Manager exposure to international business practices and market dynamics. Evaluate market conditions to identify and mitigate risks related to supply chain issues. Understanding of the market, prices, economy, and industry needs is essential. Tracking and optimizing cost for category purchases. Qualifications Must have a working knowledge of Microsoft Suite applications: Excel, PowerPoint, Word, and Teams Ability to evaluate market data, assess risks and make informed decisions. Ability to adapt to changing market conditions. Creative and resourceful, able to think independently and problem solve. Attentive to details and possess good judgement. Must have effective written and verbal communication skills.
