We are looking for a CNC Machinist in the Western Suffolk area. The company is looking for someone with at least 5 years experience with Milling and Lathe. Responsibilities
Plan and lay out work assignments, sets up and operates all types of machine shop tools in fabrication precision parts to blueprint specifications
Work under the limited supervision of the senior manufacturing staff
Set up and operate bench and machine tools including lathe, milling machine, drill press, grinder, etc., to produce precision parts, tools and fixtures from drawings, sketches, and operation sheets
Read and interpret complex blueprints, using shop mathematics
Work to extremely close tolerances using all types of machine shop tools and equipment
Determine types of machines and sequence of operations to be utilized in each operation
Select proper cutting tools for each operation and is responsible for grinding of such tools
Use a variety of precision measuring instruments to check work and obtain desired tolerances such as micrometers, vernier calipers and measurement scales
May act as lead person in assigning work and monitoring on-going department operations in the absence of the Machine Shop Supervisor
Maintain a positive work environment by professional and courteous conduct and communications with others, including supervisors, co-workers, clients, and vendors
