AutoZone, Inc. Accounting Manager, Global Lease and Finance in Memphis, Tennessee

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Global Lease and Finance Accounting Manager to join our dynamic team. In this role, you will be responsible for managing all finance and accounting aspects related to AutoZone’s global store development efforts. From overseeing a diverse lease portfolio to ensuring compliance with financial reporting requirements, you’ll play a critical role in our organization’s success.

Responsibilities:

  • Strategically Align Finance and Accounting Practices:

  • Collaborate with international business units to align store development finance and accounting best practices.

  • Conduct analyses, evaluate technologies, and implement methodologies to optimize processes.

  • Leverage Technology and Automation:

  • Drive efficiency by leveraging technology and automation tools.

  • Work closely with our IT team to develop and implement a global store development management system, including integrating with the general ledger and other systems.

  • Manage Lease Accounting:

  • Understand internal control design concepts to assess the effectiveness of controls.

  • Design new processes and controls for emerging and growing business activities.

  • Ensure accurate and timely completion of lease accounting entries and reconciliations during the period-end close process.

  • Handle key lease life cycle events (extensions, amendments, terminations) using lease accounting software.

  • Provide Financial Guidance:

  • Analyze lease-related balances and provide balance sheet account movements to support cash flow reporting.

  • Serve as the first point of contact for finance and business partners, offering guidance and resolving issues.

  • Accommodate Audit Requests:

  • Facilitate internal and external audit requests related to store development finance and lease accounting.

  • CapEx Planning and Forecasting:

  • Develop, manage, communicate, analyze, and forecast an annual capital expenditure (CapEx) plan.

  • Collaborate with store development departmental leadership to control all aspects of CapEx.

    Qualifications:

  • A bachelor’s degree in finance, accounting, or a related field (master’s degree or CPA preferred).

  • At least 8 years of experience in lease accounting, financial management, or related roles.

  • Strong analytical skills and proficiency in financial software and systems.

  • Excellent communication and collaboration abilities.

  • A strategic mindset with a focus on continuous improvement.
