Robert Half Cyber Security Engineer in Memphis, Tennessee
Description
We are seeking a highly motivated and skilled Cybersecurity Engineer to join our growing team. In this role, you will play a critical part in protecting our organization's valuable assets, including data, systems, and networks, from cyber threats. You will work closely with cross-functional teams to implement and maintain security controls, respond to security incidents, and ensure the overall security posture of the organization.
Responsibilities
Threat Intelligence & Vulnerability Management:
Conduct threat assessments and vulnerability scans.
Analyze threat intelligence feeds and stay abreast of emerging cyber threats.
Develop and maintain vulnerability management programs.
Conduct penetration testing and red teaming exercises.
Security Architecture & Engineering:
Design, implement, and maintain security controls, including firewalls, intrusion detection/prevention systems (IDS/IPS), and endpoint security solutions.
Participate in the security review of new systems and applications.
Ensure compliance with relevant security standards and regulations (e.g., ISO 27001, SOC 2, GDPR).
Incident Response & Forensics:
Develop and maintain incident response plans.
Investigate and respond to security incidents, including malware infections, data breaches, and denial-of-service attacks.
Conduct forensic analysis of security incidents to determine root cause and prevent future occurrences.
Security Monitoring & Operations:
Monitor security logs and alerts.
Investigate suspicious activity and anomalies.
Perform security audits and assessments.
Teamwork & Collaboration:
Collaborate with other IT teams, such as development, operations, and network engineering.
Educate and train employees on security best practices.
Stay current on the latest cybersecurity trends and technologies.
Requirements
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Cybersecurity, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
3+ years of experience in cybersecurity roles.
Strong understanding of cybersecurity principles and best practices.
Experience with common cybersecurity tools and technologies (e.g., SIEM, EDR, firewalls, IDS/IPS, vulnerability scanners).
Experience with incident response and forensics investigations.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Strong attention to detail and a commitment to excellence.
Bonus Points
Relevant industry certifications (e.g., CISSP, CISA, CEH, OSCP).
Experience with cloud security (e.g., AWS, Azure, GCP).
Experience with scripting languages (e.g., Python, PowerShell).
Experience with data privacy and compliance regulations.
