We are currently seeking a Senior Construction Inspector to join our growing company. This candidate will work closely with other engineers and technicians to assist in designing and managing several civil engineering projects simultaneously. This role involves inspecting construction sites, reviewing plans and specifications, and ensuring work is performed according to project standards.
Job Responsibilities
Inspects construction of bridges, buildings, dams, highways, and other construction work to ensure that procedures and materials comply with plans and specifications.
Measures distances to verify the accuracy of dimensions of structural installations and layouts.
Verifies installations' levels, alignment, and elevation using the surveyor's level and transit.
Observe work in progress to ensure procedures are followed, and materials conform to specifications.
Examines workmanship of finished installations for conformity to standards and approves installation.
Interprets blueprints and specifications for the contractor and discusses deviations from specified construction procedures to ensure compliance with construction regulations.
Maintains daily log of construction and inspection activities and compares progress reports.
Computes monthly estimates of work completed and approves payment for contractors.
Prepares sketches of construction installations that deviate from blueprints and reports such changes
Job Qualifications
An Associate degree in Construction Management, Engineering Technology, or related field. Bachelor's a plus.
A minimum of 5–7 years of experience in the construction field.
Strong organizational skills.
Ability to be on time.
Ability to carry and move 70 lbs.
Possess strong written and oral communication skills with English proficiency.
Working knowledge of Microsoft Office, including Excel and Outlook.
Ability to travel.
Flexibility in work schedule as needed by the contractor.
Ability to work outside and inside.
