UW - STOUT Facilities Planner in MENOMONIE, Wisconsin
JOB REQUIREMENTS: JOB ID 21454 JOB DETAILS: This position reports to the Campus Planner in the Facilities Planning and Engineering unit of the Facilities Management department. This position will perform or assist with various aspects of campus planning activities, the primary focus being: space inventory data reporting, data analysis, interior planning/design, space condition assessment, initiating space renewal recommendations, furniture management within general assignment classrooms and other academic common areas, campus signage management, campus capital plan preparation, maintenance forecasting, CADD and REVIT imaging and tracking, working within TMA (a maintenance management software), taking photographs, as required, and project management of the relocation of department equipment and furnishings. Secondary responsibilities include assisting with project management duties, cost estimates, code compliance, real estate, and furniture/finishes/equipment coordination and development of campus standards. Work will be performed primarily on the UW-Stout campus. Specifics regarding work location requirements will be discussed during the interview process. Official UW Title: Facilities Planner (FP014) / Job Description RESPONSIBILITIES Assessment of Space Audit all spaces on campus with the priority being: Academic Spaces Support/Service Areas Athletic/Recreation Spaces Student Life Services Spaces Physically review every room on campus to define function, type, condition, and utilization Identify size, finishes, furnishings and special utilities within each space Photograph each space Work with campus planner to prioritize updating recently renovated spaces Manages the placement, replacement and selection of furniture within general access classrooms and other academic common areas Manages the selection and layout of campus interior and exterior signage Manages and facilitates the relocation of university departments Manages campus finishes to support campus standards and campus branding Assist in developing and maintaining campus standards for institutional items such as exterior and interior furnishings, fixtures, and finishes Prepares and sequences proposals for upkeep of interior finishes to maintain the campus image. Working knowledge of AutoCAD, REVIT or similar design softwa e. Familiarity with desktop hardware, standard business software programs (e.g., word processing, spreadsheets, databases), and internet usage. Understanding of floor plans and construction documents. Minimum of one year of experience in facilities planning, GIS planning or a related field, with a solid grasp of architectural graphic conventions. Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, capable of interpreting data and generating reports to support decision-making. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for effective collaboration with diverse stakeholders. Ability to build and maintain effective working relationships with employees at all levels throughout the organization. Highly Desired/Preferred Experience with space data management software such as GIS, ESRI Indoors, TMA(CMMS), or similar. Previous experience in space management, facilities planning, or related roles, ideally within a higher education environment. Familiarity with the higher education environment.
