Robert Half Purchasing Specialist in Merced, California

Description We are looking for a meticulous Purchasing Agent to join our team in Merced, California. This role involves conducting procurement activities, managing contracts, and liaising with various stakeholders in a fast-paced environment. The successful candidate should have strong attention to detail and proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.

Responsibilities:

• Execute procurement activities including drafting and issuing IFB's/RFP's and conducting small purchase tasks according to established procedures

• Monitor and manage IFB's and RFP's evaluation and selection processes, including conducting pre-bid meetings and public bid openings

• Draft contracts and ensure compliance with procurement rules, policies, and procedures

• Act as a liaison with insurance brokers, vendors, and third parties, coordinating tasks with legal counsel for contract development

• Maintain records and files related to procurement activities, preparing various reports as required

• Coordinate with internal and external stakeholders, resolving issues and exchanging information as needed

• Assist in future procurement planning and recommend purchases based on requirements

• Demonstrate strong attention to detail, good follow-up, and follow-through abilities

• Proficient in Microsoft Office suite, including strong reading comprehension skills

• Adapt to new tasks and procedures in a deadline-driven environment. Requirements • Minimum of 1 year experience in a Purchasing Agent role or similar

• Proficient in purchasing activities including vendor management and negotiation

• Ability to support all purchasing operations and procedures

• Experience in contract administration, specifically in drafting and reviewing contracts

• Proficient in Microsoft Word and Microsoft Excel

• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

• Attention to detail and high level of accuracy

• Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines

• Strong problem-solving skills and ability to make decisions

• Knowledge of market research, data analysis and purchasing best practices

• Excellent organizational and multitasking abilities.
