Job Title: Manufacturing Engineer/Project Manager

Job Description

The Manufacturing Engineer/Project Manager is responsible for the overall product manufacturing direction, coordination, layout, implementation, execution, control, completion, and customer satisfaction of specific projects, ensuring consistency with company strategy, commitments, and goals. Helps design products that meet the specifications established by management with optimum manufacturability and minimal risk. Works with the manufacturing team to develop methods to take products through the manufacturing process.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the design, planning, and manufacturing implementation of new product implementation projects.

  • Facilitate the definition of the product implementation project scope, goals, and deliverables.

  • Define project tasks and resource requirements.

  • Develop full-scale product mass production implementation project plans, including plant floor layout.

  • Assemble and coordinate project staff.

  • Manage project budget.

  • Manage project resource allocation.

  • Plan and schedule project timelines, including product testing, initial production, mass production, and product support.

  • Track project deliverables using appropriate tools, measuring safety, quality, cost, and delivery.

  • Confirm direct customer requirements and exceed direct customer expectations.

  • Provide direction and support to the project team.

  • Quality assurance.

  • Constantly monitor and report on the progress of the project to all stakeholders.

  • Present reports defining project progress.

  • Resolve project problems using root cause analysis methodologies and implement permanent countermeasures.

  • Deliver solutions.

  • Implement and manage project changes and interventions to achieve project outputs.

  • Project evaluations and assessment of results.

Essential Skills

  • Project management

  • Experience with SolidWorks for design.

  • Ability to assess stress calculations, soundness of design, manufacturability, and risk.

  • Proficiency in troubleshooting installment issues with all manufactured products.

  • Understanding of automation and product configuration.

  • Project management skills.

  • Knowledge of SQL, DriveWorks, and Variable Driven.

  • Capable of handling all levels of engineering projects with experience as a manufactured product manager (engineer).

  • Design, evaluate, and manage full product designs by assessing stress calculations, soundness of design, simulation calculations and results, manufacturability, and risk, and optimizing to exceed direct customer expectations.

  • Take responsibility for projects that have passed initial reviews by completing calculations, drawings, and specifications and establishing engineering records of such documents. Works with outside resources to have designs and projects verified and or certified, including certifying agencies and direct customers.

  • Must be able to lead other employees and/or peers on projects. Take a project leadership role.

  • Review customer-supplied drawings for errors and factors requiring unnecessary manufacturing costs and unacceptable risks and present alternate solutions.

  • Review company-owned drawings for errors and factors requiring unnecessary manufacturing costs and unacceptable risks and present alternate solutions.

  • Develops test procedures that detect flaws in the initial product design and mass production product and confirm intended performance. Implements permanent countermeasures as required.

  • Train departments or customers on how to use the documents controlled by engineering, such as drawings, specifications, etc.

  • Troubleshoots installation problems with all manufactured products. This includes customer interactions plus on-site troubleshooting of product and design.

  • Ensures control of all engineering-related documents by ensuring they are current and available and that engineering changes are clearly communicated.

  • Complies with all applicable requirements of the Quality Management System (QMS) and Environmental Management System (EMS).

  • Knowledge of both theoretical and practical aspects of project management.

  • Knowledge of project management techniques and tools.

  • Direct work experience in a project management capacity.

  • Proven experience in people management.

  • Proven experience in strategic planning.

  • Proven experience in risk management.

  • Proven experience in change management.

  • Proficient in project management software

  • Bachelor’s degree from a four-year college or university or a minimum of five years of experience in engineering or a related field.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $65000.00 - $75000.00

This is a fully onsite position in Mercersburg,PA.
