Delaware North Senior Merchandise Manager, Buyer in Merritt Island, Florida

The Opportunity

Delaware North Parks and Resorts is hiring a Senior Merchandise Manager (Buyer) to oversee merchandise strategy and execute buy plans at Kennedy Space Center in Merritt Island, Florida. As Senior Merchandise Manager you will manage merchandise planning, product assortments and buying for a multi-million-dollar retail operation including ten brick and mortar locations as well as ecommerce. This position serves as a link between the overarching Parks and Resorts Merchandise Strategy and the location specific guest experience. This role is a key member of a team determining vendors, programs and pricing for the Parks and Resorts division.

Pay

Minimum – Anticipated Maximum Base Salary: $68300 - $92200 / year

In addition to base salary, we offer an annual bonus plan based on company and individual performance, or a role-based, uncapped sales incentive plan. Only in special circumstances, where a candidate has education, training, or experience that far exceeds the requirements for the position, would we consider paying higher than the stated range. Responsibilities

  • Set annual merchandise plansbased on analysis and review of prior season, trends, new product development concepts, vendor changes, store set evaluation, and strategy

  • Create a merchandise plan per store and website, and oversee from product plans to floor planwith plan o gram details to be supported by retail store managers

  • Review financial plans, monthly business levels, and product placement and support product training

  • Meetfinancial targets including sales, inventory turn, and margin while managing markdowns and promotions

  • Ensuretimely issuance of all purchase orders as part of the overall seasonal calendar and dates established through vendor and team meetings

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree preferred in merchandise, retail, or business-related field

  • Minimum of 5 years of retail buying experience, preferably including soft-lines, souvenir, or gift

  • Proficient in Excel

  • A strong understanding of applicable terms and metrics including but not limited to: Sales, Margin, COGS, OTB, Sell Thru Percents, Turn, Comp Store Analysis, Terms, Dating, etc

Physical Requirements

  • Must be able to lift at least 30 pounds

  • Frequent standing, bending, lifting, and walking
