Insight Global Data Center Technician - Inventory & Assets Logistics Technician in Mesa, Arizona

Job Description

Remove network cables as part of a datacenter decommission

 Run/Label/Stage Power & Networking cables

 DBD removal only (does not perform any scanning)

 Follows procedures for preparing, installing, performing diagnostics, troubleshooting, replacing, and/or decommissioning equipment with guidance from Datacenter Technician Leads

 Prepares, stages, sets up, and performs basic startups and shutdowns for hardware following written instructions, checklists, guides, standard procedures, and with guidance from Datacenter Technician Leads

 Physical audits of datacenter assets

 Prepares, stages, sets up, and performs startups and shutdowns (e.g. racks hard drives, switches) according to specific instructions, checklists, guides, standard protocols, and e-mails

 Performs post-execution quality checks and verifies that grounding, staging, labeling, and cabling are set up properly according to safety protocols, deployment standards, and planned Network Design Tasks (NDTs)

 Performs diagnostics and troubleshooting following standard procedures, quickly identifies the cause(s) of issues, and replaces faulty components

 Decommissions hardware for simple changes and refreshes (e.g. memory upgrades, OS rebuilds) following standard procedures with minimal guidance

 Follows procedures to communicate, report, and escalate incidents to appropriate Datacenter Technician Leads

Skills and Requirements

Basic knowledge of computer hardware, servers, and components

 6 months of experience supporting IT equipment or related technology

 Basic understanding of Microsoft Office applications (Outlook, Excel, Word)

 High school diploma, GED or equivalent Previous Microsoft experience

 Previous datacenter experience null
