Nammo Defense Systems, Inc **Internal** Software Engineer in Mesa, Arizona
Nammo Defense Systems Inc., a defense contractor, manufactures and supports shoulder-fired systems; energetic material solutions such as aircraft emergency escape systems, actuation devices, rocket motors, warheads, medium and large caliber ammunitions, mortar ammunition; and composite solutions including carbon fiber tubes and composite aero-structures.
We are currently seeking a Software Engineer to join our team.

• Monday-Thursday work week working four 10-hour days

• Develop data collection methods for various data streams. Data collection methods may include but are not limited to digital forms or machine outputs using SCADA software or custom interfaces.
• Ability to learn and develop new software to meet the needs of the Nammo operational group
• Document each aspect of a system or application as a reference for future upgrades and maintenance. Use Nammo existing configuration management process to assure critical program versions are maintained.
• Setup and maintain SQL data bases
• Ability to utilize the following programing languages C++, Python, Java, and other object-oriented languages
• Familiarity with the SCADA systems
• Aid in the processing of structured and unstructured data sets
• Improve data collection methods through the Nammo Mesa facility
• Basic understanding of statistics
• Propose solutions to challenging software and data challenges
• Ability to troubleshoot, diagnose, and validate new or existing applications
• Work with the internal IT department and outside resources as needed
• As needed learn or develop new software packages to further drive operational excellence and Nammo.
• Demonstrated passion for problem solving
Job Qualifications:
• Ability to work in a team environment. Work alongside engineers, managers, and operators to complete a tasks.
• 5 years of experience preferably in an data driven industrial environment
• Bachelor Degree in software engineering or computer science
• Strong analytical and reasoning skill with an ability to visualize process and outcomes.
• Demonstrated communication skills and ability to work collaboratively
• Ability to work independently
• Ability to develop project plans and statement of work for larger scale projects
• Problem solving skills related software and data science.
• Familiarity with DOD cyber security requirements and ability to work within a team to develop solutions
• MS Office proficiency: Word, Excel, Access, Outlook, Project.
• Willingness to continentally challenge the status quo and look for opportunities to drive improvements within the field of tooling design and automation.
• 5 YOE in managing and optimizing Windows Server environments.
• Proficiency in creating, optimizing, and maintaining Microsoft SQL (MSSQL) databases, with a strong emphasis on ensuring data integrity and reliability.
• Other tasks as assigned
• Must be able to provide proof of US Persons and ability to clear ATF background check.
