Carnival Cruise Line Distribution Center Tech Oper Supervisor in Miami, Florida

Job Description

The Warehouse Technical Operations Supervisor ensures company policies are met and carried out as well as the timely reporting of all non-compliance issues. Acts as the Liaison between warehouse service providers within various CCL departments, such as the technical department, marine ops, and shipboard personnel. The Technical Supervisor will also oversee the loading plans and movement of technical freight from the warehouse to the vessel and also monitor the respective technical area on the floor.

Job Functions:

  • Assist with technical department inquires and deal with receiving issues for deck and engine

  • Act as liaison between warehouse service provider and technical operations, purchasing and vendors

  • Work closely with freight forwarder and in house transportation department for coverage

  • Arrange and monitor Deck/ Engine loading plans

  • Audit dry trailers to ensure proper load out

  • Report receiving issues and storage problems to Manager, Distribution and Logistics

  • Support in vendor returns that include Mailroom, domestic returns and bonded returns

  • Monitor and schedule repairs for equipment in house and order crane and forklifts for special operations in house

  • Perform other job-related functions as assigned

Qualifications:

  • Education: Associate’s degree required

  • Major/Discipline: Logistics management, working knowledge of accounting principles preferred

  • Work Experience: Minimum 3 years working in a supervisory role or training in logistics and warehouse operations. Familiar with truck dispatch and ordering of special equipment, such as flatbed/lowboys. Onboard working experience is a plus. Understanding movements over the road or via air. Have worked in a fast-paced warehouse environment. Having knowledge of how to use a forklift and Raymond upright preferred. Knowledge of Department of Transportation regulations preferred.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

  • Strong attention to detail, high level of flexibility and ability to function in a dynamic environment. Analytical and organizational skills, good leadership skills, creative thinker and solutions oriented, second language, preferably Spanish is a plus. Excellent written and oral communication skills.

  • Must have strong command of Microsoft Office programs including advance level of Excel.

Physical Demands: Must be able to remain in a stationary position at a desk and/or computer for extended periods of time. Requires regular movement throughout CCL facilities. Must be able to life in excess of 50 pounds. May need to stand for long periods of time.

Travel: No travel

Work Conditions: Work primarily in a climate-controlled environment with minimal safety/health hazard potential. Work may require employee to work inside and outside with exposure to changing climate and/or operate machinery. May be requested to work a different shift. Other job specific working conditions.

Specific Work Conditions: May include weekends and later hours when necessary.

Specific Work Conditions: Responsible for reporting information related to environmental releases or inadequate performance of environmental pollution protection equipment, system casualties resulting in internal spills, excessive waste development and leaking equipment with oil-to-sea interfaces. (Environmental Compliance Plan, dated 30 NOV 2016)

This position is classified as "in-office." As an in-office role, it requires employees to work from a designated Carnival office in South Florida from Tuesday through Thursday. Employees may work from home on Mondays and Fridays. Some positions may require additional in-office time each week and final schedule is determined by your leader. Candidates must be located in (or willing to relocate to) the Miami/Ft. Lauderdale area.
